Best possible response to...that thing up there.
I’m going to stop you right there, because not only was John Carter a great movie (grossly underappreciated), but the framing device in that movie worked brilliantly, and made the whole thing more moving. Don’t EVEN compare it to the mess that is The Hobbit.
“How about having women write male-driven shows, black people writing white-led shows, and so on?”
I give it a week.
It’s actually an interesting and thoughtful article, and this clickbait stuff you guys can’t stop yourselves from writing doesn’t do it justice. I think you need to rethink you’re whole writing style, and question what it is you’re trying to accomplish here. O’Neal is gone, and someone needs to step up to preserve…
Maybe John Bellairs AND JK Rowling can both be good writers who wrote fun books. I like it that there are many good books to read instead of just one.
I’ve never been thrilled about Cavill as Superman (or - um, Superman in general). But I’ve liked Cavill in many other roles. In my perfect world this would free him up for Man from UNCLE sequels, and also people would want to see them. (Seriously - it was a great movie and everyone should know that.)
I am still traumatized by the fact that Luke Null ever appeared on national television. His lack of talent frightened me, and my whole family.
He appeared in everything from Route 66 to The Twilight Zone
Before I start in on this, I will make up some names. Most of the series has happened in AlternateWorld; last night’s episode was OurWorld. There is Black Kid Henry (adopted; from AlternateWorld) and White Adult Henry (from OurWorld) - picked world names arbitrarily - with Trump in office I probably picked…
I think that what’s happened with the Henries is that when they’re not in their own reality, chaos follows them. They don’t AGE because they’re not supposed to be there.
Can’t wait for all these super niche streaming services to fail and consolidate so we basically just end up with cable packages all over again.
This premise feels oddly similar to the MST3K-riffed movie Laserblast.
I don’t know if you’re looking for an endorsement of the show, but here’s one anyway. I love the show so much that I’m jealous that you haven’t seen it, because the notion of getting to binge it from scratch for the first time again is a really cool thought.
This is almost exactly how I feel about the Hulk. It’s actually how I also feel about Wolverine’s enduring popularity; of all the X-Men, it’s the one who often seems reduced to a snarling ball of rage beating things up that seems to be the most popular (I realise that’s a little bit reductive, but it’s certainly…
Superheroes are always going to be tied to comics so I think it makes sense. Plus it’s showing the progression of more and more comics being mined for film adaptations.
What kind of answer were they looking for?
Would have prefered seeing X2 get the full treatment this week. That’s a movie I have really fond memories of. Meanwhile, Hulk... was something else.
The thing I’ve noticed about the color in this one is that there appears to be a purpose to it. There are certain colors that really seem to pop (like red for instance). Who knows if that’s the case throughout the film though.
