Up until this moment I completely forgot it even existed. For a sequel to something so enduring as Independence Day to disappear from consciousness that quickly is quite the feat.

That’s true - by the time of the Roswell crash, the aliens might have already perfected their computer systems. Which means the aliens were doing interplanetary travel with a UNIVAC?
I managed to buy The Witch by asking the clerk to search maybe under “VV”.
Greatest post I have seen on the matter. Everything you said was spot on especially about peoples expectations after the Avengers high.
Reposted from yesterday’s “What’s on Tonight?”
‘And really, the concept isn’t that funny to begin with; the cast does what they can, but it’s uninspired.’
Oh boy.
AoS and Agent Carter really represent the “underappreciated treasures” corner of the Marvel universe.
What was the deal with Coulson’s eyes anyway?
So good to see Souza again! How I miss Agent Carter. I’d settle for a Sousa-Simmons Cross Space and Time spin-off at any rate. Where was Peggy while Sousa was at Area 51 anyway...back with Steve?

That white privilege line was so timely, and considering thios was in the can…
Jemma doing Peggy Carter cosplay was something she always dreamed off.
It feels especially tone-deaf in the current moment to be playing this powerful military white guy’s racism for laughs, but honestly, this would’ve been wobbly even without current events being what they are.
I love the show using the period appropriate movie references. In 30s they went to speakeasy. In 50s it’s an invasion of face snatching robots from space. Or alien commies from the future. And that title was perfect.
As a household that has Disney Junior on non-stop during daylight hours, whether anyone’s watching or not (mostly not), the promos for Mira have been goddamn non-stop. My 4-year-old is fucking pumped.
One thing Spielberg has a real knack for (and it doesn’t get mentioned all that often ) is depicting violence. When an act of violence happens in a Spielberg movie, you feel exactly the way he wants you to feel. When someone gets shot in Raiders, it’s a punchline. When someone gets shot in Saving Private Ryan, it’s…
“But if you think about it, Indy doesn’t actually affect the plot at all—”
OK, I’ll step up—I disagree with you. I routinely skip past the musical acts on SNL (even when it’s a singer I like) because it’s usually just completely uninteresting. There’s nothing to watch, mostly, and I can hear them sing on the radio or mp3 or whatever.
Just make James Urbaniak Reed Richards!
“BBC” by Ming Tea, from Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery.
Yeah, the whole “the show’s gone soft” take doesn’t hold water for me. I’ve been watching it for...30 years (fuck), and in that span it’s never said anything politically in that time that went beyond the obvious/superficial.
Likewise, and after a brief look at the photo without paying much attention to it I presumed he was having a casual meal while bleeding heavily from his arm.
