Yeah, in my very limited going out the fact that it’s always men that are incapable of wearing a mask or wearing it properly is annoying and unsurprising.

I do not understand why it is so hard for people to just do something for someone else. The tiniest thing. Wearing a mask for a half hour while you’re out to possibly make it so someone else doesn’t get sick.
The part of PA I’m from is pretty OK about masks—people wear them in the stores and don’t seem to be too fussy about it. But our visitors are from all over the country, so what is the trend in my city isn’t going to really dictate what happens at work.
I’ve also been in the potato salad palooza, until I ran out of capers (and haven’t replenished because of the moving thing). We had burritos tonight.
Oh it’s absolute rubbish. Especially since where I work and what our site is about is...particularly rife for the ‘but mah freedums!’ crowds. The top admin are so afraid of making anyone mad and say anything bad that they will avoid any conflict what so ever and bend to any will. They want 100% of visitors to be 100%…
Oh I’ve also fallen into a pattern of pandemic cooking. It’s like without a proper grocery shopping stint I can’t be creative and I just end up making the same four or five things because the only things I’ve been able to consistently get are cheese, peppers, onions, chicken, eggs, and beans. Plus the 10lbs of rice I…
That cake looks lovely!
I would like this in my face mouth.
no no no.
Campus squirrels are a different breed.
It makes me so happy that this is not a think at my work places. It has a distinct risk—we work with the public, it’s difficult, and incredibly taxing, and we get folks from all over the world.
I had physical therapy at a place that was right next to a cross fit gym. They’d have people come in with injuries that were from poor form/too much-too soon work outs. Like blown out joints and stuff.
This happens in my boyfriend’s family. Super ridiculously racist uncle. Very against interracial marriage.
But some how they do. I used to work with a woman who was just desperately in debt and could not hold a job for a huge number of reasons (she was fired from us). She would talk about how she was on the verge of being homeless....but yet the horse. The horse in a part of the country where it costs minimum $700 a month…
Ugh, my ex mother in law was like this ‘but I didn’t mean it!’
At age 54, she will be soon, or may already be, out of the Actually Women club too by her definition. Menopause and all that jazz.
There was a really interesting episode of Ugly Delicious about this, and the challenges of rethinking of Indian (and other ‘ethnic’ foods) in the American culinary world. Not necessarily to elevate them, but to reimagine the classifications.
