Tesla hate took up too much mental real estate.

Cant have a single EV article without taking a swipe at Tesla.
There is no pollution free transportation. The question how do we reduce pollution.
My thinking is “at least it’s a contained and isolated ecological disaster”.
The batteries probably have chain guides on them somewhere.
it’s probably going to be easier to replace the gas in the natural gas systems we have than it is to rip out those systems.
Hydrogen cost too much energy to produce and store at the moment to be ecologically/economically viable in a car : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_production
1st Gear: On a practical level, it’s really hard to blame the automakers for giving up on hydrogen. It’s been perpetually “five years away” for decades now. Emissions standards are becoming stricter faster, the need and usage of vehicles is changing, and batteries are becoming subject to Moore’s Law-esque technology…
YES! This is the kind of rational thinking we need. Do you have an auto-blog and I can start to visit instead of Jalopnik? I’m looking for a rational person’s take and its becoming more and more clear that no one at Jalopnik is capable of that.
Dollars to Donuts Torch used a ghostwriter.
Subframe bolts and a non-structural bumper cover are not exactly on the same order, one is a safety issue that is recall worthy, one is probably TSB worthy (which seems to be what Tesla did):
Yep, beat me to the same take. The “City Streets” feature (which is going to be based on FSD beta, but is only a subset of the FSD suite) is most definitely not a level 3+ feature.
As noted early in the post, Tesla already has a giant battery in Australia, and I haven’t seen any reports that it isn’t doing exactly what was expected. I don’t think anybody cares about panel gaps on battery cases.
I mean, the giant grid scale Tesla battery in Australia is HUGELY successful, but, we’re going to ignore that because why?
1st: While Tesla deserves some skepticism as long as the CEO is a Twitter troll instead of an adult, in this particular case they’re not doing anything terribly wild. The utility industry is interested in batteries to replace “peaker” plants, which are powered by natural gas and only fire up in times of high demand,…
Seriously, I had such a shitty time trying to buy a V90 I walked out after 4 hours and ordered a Tesla when I got home.
I don’t get this website anymore.... I’m just here mostly for the commenters I like these days.
“If we don’t control the buying experience, how are we anything but a delivery and service center?”
This is a really bad take. Texas’ electrical grid issues was due to Texas deregulating their electrical grid so that the grid was not properly weatherized. This is a nonissue in every other state, and if Texas’ fixes their grid it would be a nonissue there. The overall gradual increase in electricity use is a…
Gas pumps are electric, too.
