Wow, can you see Texas from up there on your high horse?

Unfortunately I don’t think the Orange Island arc is considered to be canon. I actually like that arc though and I weirdly miss Tracy Sketchit.
Controversial opinion: none. He doesn’t need to be in these movies and I enjoy his quirky projects just fine already.
The absolute nadir of oral histories, but you better believe I’d read the shit out of it.
It was an enormous cash-in and pretty soulless as well. The first one wasn’t high art, but it was elevated by very goofy Sonnenberg direction, a curmudgeonly Tommy Lee Jones back when that was still a novelty, a great “summer movie blockbuster” Will Smith performance, and an all-time great villain in Vincent…
Ditto the “cultural appropriation of reggae.” It’s clear that the band had a deep appreciation for reggae. I don’t understand why a band can’t play a genre of music they like simply because their culture or skin color differs from the place where the music originated. Should no band ever use an instrument or musical…
I live in South East Asia, in a country which has been particularly welcoming to Chinese tourists over the past 5 to 10 years. It is incredible the amount of shit the locals put up with from the Chinese. I’ve seen Chinese tourists at a breakfast buffet take the entire serving tray back to their table. They never get…
I actually liked The Order 1886 as well. I feel like if it had come out in 2007 it would have been much better received.
Yeah I honestly don’t get the complaint from the writer here. I believe I failed two sections of one stealth mission, which was my own fault, and never failed another one again. I also found them incredibly compelling and the information useful and relevant. Oh, and I could throw rocks too so again, don’t know what…
Agreed -- I absolutely love this game. I finished the main story Sunday morning (no spoilers here, don’t worry). I love how weak I was when the game started. I thought I’d never be able to take down a horde. I’ve taken down five or six at this point and they’re actually starting to feel a bit, shall I say, easy!! I…
My friend’s nephew starred in a middle school production of Aladdin in 2013. I would rather be subjected to that 100 consecutive times than watch this Will Smith nonsense even once, and I actually like Will Smith. I’ve seen the trailer for this movie twice recently and could barely sit through two minutes of that.
I’ve just reached what I assume is the last area of the map (no spoilers) but I have to say that I’m really enjoying the gameplay and don’t find it mediocre or “by-the-numbers.” I really enjoy taking out the various enemy camps and burning the infestation nests. Yesterday I cleared out a nest with a molotov only for a…
I think about how long it took to forge the key to fucking Upper Black Rock Spire and then I realize I never, ever want to play WoW (especially Vanilla WoW) ever again. Remember getting attuned to raids? That was such a monstrous waste of time.
Yes, I can very easily recommend purchasing this game at full price. I probably buy three or four games a year and a game like this will take me months to complete (I play slowly, maybe an hour a day *if* that). I can’t tell you how far I am in the game (I’ve been doing a lot of jobs for Lost Lake camp, if that means…
Rhode Island:
I cannot tell you how many times I have gone to Netflix to watch the latest, just released episodes of a show I like only to not find it on the front page under the “new release” heading... It’s infuriating how they don’t advertise their own shows.
That was roughly my end point as well (though I did see some of the Christmas episode later in the same season). The point where John Stamos decided he was going to be in a high school production of Rocky Horror, completely non-ironically, just killed the show for me. I could not go on after that.
Those reviews were such crap. Infuriating in retrospect.
Island of the Blue Dolphins straight fucked me up. I wept for days when that damn wolf dog died.
I’ve told this story a few times before in AV Club comments, but my then-girlfriend and I brought in an entire meal from Popeye’s when we went to see the Star Trek reboot (2009). It went considerably well and the buttery, salty biscuits were amazing.
