How so? I haven’t seen EA doing anything particularly excitingly evil for several years now.
How exactly? If anything, they’ve become milquetoast compared to the BS other publishers have been pulling in the last few years
Literally my point was that Embracer took on all these acquisitions without actually being able to afford them. I made no comments about any of these being hostile takeovers.
Pretty much, yes. It’s a shame because THQ Nordic was working on a lot of good AA stuff. Jagged Alliance 3, Outcast 2, Alone in the Dark, Destroy All Humans, Gothic Remake, etc. Now it seems like they’ll be cutting back on titles with lower profit potential and focusing exclusively on their biggest AAA IP. The smaller …
Nah, an SSD has been standard on PC’s for years now. Plus like others have pointed out, they’re quite cheap.
Saying there are worse publishers is damning with faint praise. EA aside, just look at Ubisoft’s shenanigans in Singapore or pretty much anything Activision-Blizzard does.
Lots of luck exploiting Lord of the Rings. I feel like that’s a franchise that’s been seeing diminishing returns for years now. The Hobbit movies were middling, the games haven’t been setting the world on fire, and it feels like the Amazon TV series was completely upstaged by House of the Dragon.
Super super cool how they acquired a bunch of (seemingly) stable and successful developers and now are gonna lay off a bunch of people and shut down those same studios because they got greedy and bought more than they could afford.
So what I am getting is that they made a bunch of business plans around this mystery $2B deal and put those plans in motion (including the spending) before that deal was final. The deal fell apart and now they are screwed and having to do massive restructuring to avoid bankruptcy. Is that about the sum of it??
I’m willing to bet that Starfield is going to use the DirectStorage protocol that Microsoft has been touting (but admittedly not really using yet). If that is the case, SATA drives are actually not going to work at all.
Right, cause before them Star Wars was the pinnacle of story telling and dialogue.
In the replies to Piscatella’s tweets, many have reacted to the data with anger, skepticism, and shitty jokes.
Exactly. Companies have no loyalty to you, so you should never bother giving any to them. When you punch out at end of the day, that’s your time and the company can fuck right off
“Rest on one’s laurels”?
Given Amazon announced they were working on a LOTR MMO, I’m actually inclined to believe it was them.
I’d honestly put it on Amazon if I had to venture a guess. They’re more than happy to support something until they don’t, much like Google. MS pulling out of gaming deal seems less likely since they’re so desperate for an exclusive hit. Doubt Sony would even sniff around Embracer.
Bought discounted Nintendo gift cards from Costco, used discounted cards to get the vouchers, obtained TOTK for the equivalent of $40.
the writers found a clever way to subvert it, with a conflict that doesn’t need to have galaxy-shattering ramifications to feel crucial for both the characters and the player.
Fun fact, Miyamoto can play banjo and guitar really well. Here’s a pic of him playing banjo at Nintendo’s office in the mid-80s.
