The Series S issues were seen miles away by anyone who knew having less powerful hardware at a budget price would cause headaches with devs due to Microsoft’s demand that it’s got to work both on the X and S. I get what they were aiming for and Game Pass plays a part, but it was still poor planning.

The One X runs better than the Series S. Doesn’t matter if the Series S can do a little RTX. The performance just doesn’t match up.

When Microsoft announced the Series S I thought it was a fairly shrewd way of expanding their marketshare by having a “budget” option that was theoretically not going to really increase overhead/development costs too much.

It’s really what sucks about our culture. Copraganda is so strong in the US that the first movie’s cultural message flew over 99% of the viewerships heads.

Robocop is not a pro-cop movie. At least not the first one.

I was reviewing the comments specifically to see if someone had linked this. I believe the Apple movie will be entertaining, but the Gaming Historian’s video is almost certainly the better way to actually learn the history of the game.  I say almost only because this one isn’t out yet for comparison, but I imagine

Was going to post this too. Some of GH’s best work IMO.

Now playing

It’s a really interesting story. The Gaming Historian did a really great video about it a few years ago.

My first instinct was to ask why the tags matter because who the hell is going to buy Armored Core VI without knowing exactly what they’re getting into, but then I remembered that From is a LOT bigger/more notable today then they were when Armored Core V came out, and I’m sure this will be a ton of people’s first

Nothing, you’re right, it’s weird that users can add their own stupid tags.

I grow more confused by the gaming community with each passing day

I *really* hope they follow the Xbox model and make the next Switch iteration the same, but more powerful. It’s genuinely awesome that Nintendo keeps old games alive by remastering them and remaking them but like... just let me play the games I previously bought on your new system.

although they are saying this is “uncharted territory”, I just realized that the Switch is just trying to repeat what the original Game Boy did: taking slightly obsolete tech (even by 1989 standards) and keep it going through pure software.

Along those lines, people like to mention Sea of Thieves as a Rare success under Microsoft, but I think it’s honestly a great example of the opposite. It’s evidence that Microsoft doesn’t have a “guiding hand” the way Nintendo always has and Sony now does. The game only became good after release, after user feedback

Yikes, you're a young one. Lol

Its their upper management. They are the textbook definition of people who are there because of who they know, not what they know. Take Rare for example, like you said - one of the best of their time..forced to work on chasing a trend that was already on the way out, with Kinect.  Then theres Halo. Dont even get me

Some of them have been great, but it’s almost always A- or AA-level successes, and so far outside the scope of the big splashy linear cinematic single-player spectacles that Sony is so well known for.

Wrenched it away? Bungie wanted to do 2 Halo games, they gave Microsoft 5 and Reach was obviously a predecessor to Destiny.

Agree, she was fantastic in 24, an amazing actress, and apparently also a great human being. This sucks.

The first thing I saw her in was 24, and she was wonderful. She more than held her own with Sutherland, which is especially impressive given that he’d already inhabited Jack Bauer for six full seasons at that point. It was great to see her pop up in Bosch as well, and she was one of the bright spots in Picard, too.
