This is not good news for anybody other than the corporate interests it is intended to mollify, but it is ridiculously predictable news. Did anybody genuinely think a Republican president, let alone this Republican president, was really going to implement the ban of an extraordinarily profitable consumer product

Arsenal fans, probably because they are unfamiliar with managerial change, have yet to fully turn on the manager, and instead have made Xhaka—a damn good player whom Emery does no favors with the team’s playing style and line-up decisions—the focus of their ire. The players, however, are less blind and reportedly are

Camden Yards is beautiful.  It’s a shame there’s no major league team to use it.

Good god, number 3 all day long. You can’t send Matt Gaetz to DC and then blame DC for Matt Gaetz. We didn’t want him here, you did. He’s YOUR melanoma.

I would expect something like this from say Albom or Plaschke but I’m actually surprised a writer as good as Pierce would log on with such a shithead take.

A Red Sox fan criticizing another team’s fanbase would be like if Arby’s started doing restaurant reviews.

Some thoughts:

Red Sox fans are so insufferable I started rooting for the Yankees.

On behalf of all the Nationals fans and the residents of the District of Columbia, I invite you to kick rocks, you bitter, angry hack.

Have no Nats & Astros takes, but just putting it out there that Red Sox fans are the absolute worst, that is all :)

I have an even easier trick to see who wrote the article--the byline!

Related: I don’t mind Joe Buck, either. He is extremely okay at a job that must be harder than it appears from the comfort of my couch judging by how many other people are awful at it. But is he really the only one who can do this? We’ve got him flying from Houston for Game 2, to Minnesota for Thursday Night Football,

I keep saying that it’s not so much that a racist, sexist, fool like Trump is President, it’s that 60 million people were cool with making a racist, sexist, fool president. Even if he loses the next election and we start to move back towards some semblance of normalcy, those 60 million people will still be here.

very cool we live with millions of fucking lunatics who think shit like this

If his grouping is like his strike zone, we have nothing to worry about. Dude’s a storm trooper.

My parents are just a few years older than Trump, but technically not boomers since both were born during the war. I think it’s less his generation, and more being a failson. The guy has never had to work, really work, a day in his life. His father was the self-made man. Trump inherited from him, and I think has a

A lot of under 50, non-college educated, (mostly) white males voted for him.

Agreed on all points. I’d like to add one minor thing, though. Trump further encapsulates the Boomer id, in that he doesn’t understand the role he’s played in his failures. He rails against banking and lending systems, as if they’re the reason he can’t run a successful business. He’s perfect, and his businesses are

I find myself thinking that President Trump is not merely one of the worst people his generation produced, but the embodiment of the collective id of that generation. Thin-skinned, venal, looking for someone else to blame and so very, very scared of changes.

I think you’ve now proven via logic what we’ve all long suspected: people at all levels of government with access to classified information actively withhold information from him (or otherwise play dumb with him regarding what information they actually have or can provide) because they know he’s unfit for office.
