How does PCV blowby/oil buildup cause valve failure??? I’m at a loss. I’ve seen engines with totally plugged PCV’s for years never eat a valve. Leak oil out of every orifice sure, but never munch a valve because of a plugged PCV.

Sounds like a cya move for shitty valves installed from the get go.

While closed deck EJ’s are decent units, I will NOT miss the open deck 2.5l variants. Those engines are trash-a-roni.  FA seems to be a much less issue prone platform so far, but time will tell.

You clearly don’t live in a rural area. :p

I’ll use this as an example, often time for work I’m driving hundreds of miles in a day to reach customer sites that I may only be at for an hour, maybe less, maybe a little more. Without a “supercharger” like device, you’re not going to get much energy back into your EV

To be fair, I think some of the issue comes with cold weather performance and lack of charging stations in rural areas. Not everyone lives in a metro area, here in the upper midwest, you can go hours without seeing a gas station, let alone a charging station, there are VERY few in many rural areas and that makes EV

I still wouldn’t. In today’s overly sensitive world, you’re bound to piss someone off even if you’re trying to help them. Just live and let live. The dudes $300 piece falls off, tough shit.

I do like the leaving a note idea, might be the better choice.  I guess you have to “physically touch” the car to like put it

Maybe there’s something I’m missing, but how exactly is a plane using more energy during its landing sequence??

engines are reduced in thrust (power) for landing, because well, gravity! You don’t need as much thrust to stay in the air coming down. Or is there some other factor I’m missing?

Maybe if this was a 4.0, but its not so, not worth that much, imo.  I guess you could swap it, but thats work. CP

The only thing keeping me from embracing the EV is my climate. Northern MN gets cold. And I know my range and battery life are going to suffer big time here with winter temps, spinning your tires often in slippery conditions, and running the heater. They’ve had quite a few teething problems with the electric buses up

And this is why I question the wisdom of giving 400+ horsepower to every tom, dick and larry out there.

IMO, you should have to take some kind of drivers training to get an enforcement on your license if your cars at a certain power/weight ratio.

Not everyone deals with this kinda thing responsibly.

They’ve always seemingly screwed up with Opel.  They didn’t really market the Manta or the GT either.  Which is sad to me.

As the great Mitch Hedberg once said:

Typically the ships unload containers straight onto railcars with intermodal containers or trailers and the tracks go right up to the ports in most cases, so you don’t have to to the 1st unnecessary trip you mention.

And a truck is NOT efficient in terms of moving tonnage. You can move hundreds of trucks with 1 train

Ahhh, this is a point I had not really considered.  But you’re not wrong.

MBGA - Make BMW’s Great again.

Man I love the look of these, one of the best looking modern sedans period.

This makes me worried as well. If only we would have had the foresight to leave our rail networks intact instead of ripping them up for roads....

I still am flabergasted that trucking, which is far less efficient is somehow loads cheaper. But I think it comes down to the ripping up of a lot of tracks that once served

I don’t think Volvo is doing “bad”, their sales are up and they aren’t circiling the drain at this moment, but as a Volvo diehard, I feel they lost some of their Scandinavian charm in pursuit of the Germans. I sort of wish they would do what they used to, build high quality, safe, but simple / practical cars. Kinda

I 100% agree Cadillac should do what Lincoln is doing. I really like what they;re doing, they’re putting a modern spin on “Maliese era” luxo-barges, which I think is fantastic. I am really happy that they aren’t just playing “keep up with the Germans” everyone seems to be doing that, and I wish brands would be a bit

I have a softspot for darts.  Now if it was a 2 door, mhmmm...

I’m just surprised it took this long. I’m always super suprised how many new cars are sold in the US alone!! Who’s buying them? lol Maybe its leases? And or some folks just trade up for a newer car every 4 years or so, but thats never been me or anyone I know. And with the prices on cars today and the shrinking middle

I mean its no 917 sound, but its not bad.
