I think FaceID is the best (I haven’t used it), but I question its usefulness, much like I question the usefulness of hover gestures. As a bonus, I’m sure they’re fine, I just wouldn’t want it being added onto the price tag.

But what new aspect or use did they add? Bluetooth headphones have existed for a decade. All they did was remove functionality. That, in and of itself, is not innovation unless they created something new, either as a product or a process. They didn’t create any new options, they merely eliminated old ones.

This has to be the dumbest comparison I’ve ever read. None of those things were “deleted”; they were replaced by better alternatives and every single one of them continue to exist today and continued to be mainstream for quite awhile alongside their replacement.

I miss when Apple made amazing things. Now I just honestly don’t want the most recent generation of anything they make, and will probably stick with older ones as long as I can.

Cool. I’ll just sit at my desk, listening to music and charging the pho...oh, wait, I can’t charge it because now listening to music uses up the USB port. Because Apple sucks.

Well if Apples been good at one thing lately... That would be taking steps backwards.

Phones didnt come with headphone jacks when they were invented. It was an innovation when it was first introduced. It is now a reversion back to how it began.

“Now that notches are popping up on just about every new smartphone screen”

Nah, it’s dumb and pointless. It was when Samsung did it. It would be dumb if Apple does it.

I just find it hard to understand why people care so much and find it intriguing to read all the posts from people losing their minds over it all. - emptycontent

Oh we all understand why Apple does it, they’ve herded their sheep and trapped them in their ecosystem, sure some eventually see the trap they’ve fallen into and manage to get out of it. But most just stick with Apple because everything else they have is Apple and it would be a nightmare to try and make the switch to

If we’re bringing back dropped phone features, here are my requests for Samsung, bring back the IR blaster and the ability for the user to pop off the back and replace the battery. LG has water resistant phones that still let you do that, so I see no good reason that Samsung abandoned that feature (beyond more selfish

I think so. I never had the S but the Galaxy Nexus was one of the loveliest phones I’ve ever cradled in my hands. Loved the minimalist design, the curved screen, the lightweight, the plastic feel was pretty cheap but what a terrific phone otherwise.

Wasn’t the first inwardly curved screen the Nexus S? In 2011...

Those comments are just as common as comments like yours from uppity people acting like they are above it while simultaneously jumping in the mud with them.

The Nexus S also had a curved screen in 2011.

For all the things that tend to fail
no matter what the vendors do,
now Apple brings, and all will hail
“it’s wonderful, and sparkling new!”

Same old stanza.

....and will charge twice what those features ran 4 years ago. I understand that technology naturally becomes more expensive etc etc, but i just cant fathom paying $1,200 for any phone.

So... the same strategy they’re been using for a while now...
