I fail to spot the difference???

Yeah, I’m wondering why this is aimed at ‘Baby Boomers’, yet the press photo shows late Gen-X parents and millennial kids ogling flowers in the wheelbarrow from the van.

My parents got through two kids with a sedan. It amazes me that people need a freaking minivan for two children nowadays, or a 3-row SUV.

Honestly, 12v power ports are far more useful. With built in usb ports for charging, you are stuck with much lower charging amperage and are limited to USB-A and not the current USB-C.

Not tall? You haven’t been in one, have you?

46.9 inches of headroom in the front row. That’s almost 5 more inches than an Expedition. According to at least one site (https://tall.life/best-cars-for-tall-people/), the only better vehicle for tall people is the Mercedes Sprinter. There’s so much headroom in the TC you

That’s almost certainly due to weight and drag. It’s built on a Focus platform, but probably weighs half again more, and is MUCH taller, wider and has a much more vertical frontal area.

I’d be curious to know the weight difference between the two, and the van’s obviously got a much bigger frontal area meaning greater drag.

The ideal world would give the USA both the mondeo estate and the current generation 6 wagon. I would have purchased the latter over my 3 hatch 10 out of 10 times.

Who buys a van for two kids?

Considering it’s about 10K more than a base escape, it’s 2,500$ each time you need it.

Are you really comparing a Focus to a van?

Much more useful than any truck any of them build unless you need to tow something really heavy.

As a former shopper of this van, here’s what will happen: Everyone who looks at it (including diesel fanatics) will then see the sticker and wonder how Ford is charging 90%-100% of “normal” minivan prices for half the content.

30 MPH? They can probably go faster than that.

Only 30 mpg highway? Huh. I kinda expect more out of a tiny diesel in a relatively light vehicle. I mean the bigger, nicer gas v6 Vans all get about 28 highway. Hardly makes the increased up front cost and running costs (adblu) worth even considering. Not to mention half the horsepower I’m sure. I like the diesel

Today is my 40th birthday. I plan on celebrating by leaving work at noon, and watching Matlock. Dinner at 3 PM... With that... I drive a 2016 TransitConnect here at work (cargo) and I absolutely LOVE it; it is a fantastic van. Vantastic. My parents were boomers and are both dead, so I’ll lust after this since they

But there only appears to be one, possibly two cup holders per seat. I thought the standard ratio of cupholder to passenger was 6:1?

Any info on MPG’s, price ?

Pfff.. Forget baby boomers. I want this thing for ME. Big useful diesel box with a tall roofline that can haul ALL THE THINGS? I’m in.
