Oh man, I know what you mean. Every time the voice-acting starts in and everyone sounds like they’re doing Shakespeare in the Park. Soooooo fucking cringey.

H’aanit looks like she’d be fun. I’d probably start with her. In fact, a lot of the Rogue Path characters look more interesting to me than the Noble Path ones (though Olberic and Tressa look neat too).

Getting a real SaGa Frontier vibe from this game, which I guess is kind of the point. And a little bit of final

dark

I can’t believe on-foot stuff won’t be coming later on. I am a bit disappointed to learn that boarding actions will be carried out via cutscene, I was sort of hoping those would be actual combat encounters, but I’m still highly anticipating this game.

Even Quark’s mom said she was over 200 years old at one point.

God, bringing back Tony Todd to play Old Man Jake instead of Cirroc Lofton would be so meta and just the right amount of obscure, I love it.

I mean...Voyager and Enterprise already happened, so...

Oh, I didn’t realize you’d been a guest at our house in the 90s. My brother and father were huge Myst fans (they love puzzles). I mostly found it bewildering, but I did like just wandering around the island and some of the easier-to-get-to Ages (after I’d seen my brother’s solutions) and marveling at how pretty

You got the audio, if nothing else. It was often enough.

What’s funny to me is that in QFGI, you can clearly see the seeds of sandbox games that would follow later; you’re dropped into an area, you have three major tasks to perform, and basically set loose. The problem is, is that there’s really ONLY those three things to do aside from the one class-specific thing you have

It has to be remembered that King’s Quest was in a very real way Sierra’s flagship series. It was always the one that got used to showcase new game engines or features, even though most of the games themselves haven’t aged very well (some of those puzzles in KQV, how you were ever supposed to solve some of those

Possibly the rights are tied up somehow. Or...weren’t the series creators (“The Two Guys From Andromeda”) planning on doing some kinda spiritual sequel to the SQ series? I think I remember reading that at some point and that may be why there hasn’t been an attempt to revive Space Quest like there has been for King’s

Space Quest is also the Sierra adventure series that ended up having the least awful of its final (Sierra-made, anyway) games. At the very least, I never seem to hear Spinal Frontier being spoke of with the same venom that Quest For Glory V: Dragon Fire or *urgh* King’s Quest 8: Mask of Eternity ever got.

Now playing

Holy shit, Space Quest V made a joke about this I think! I recall at some point in the game when Roger is finding out how Vohaul ended up taking over his home planet, it’s revealed that the program containing his mind (since Vohaul died in SPQII, the version that shows up in V is his brain uploaded into a computer

It’ll get even worse if they decide to include even more of the Serpent Society since they all got snake codenames, though they tended to be Captain America villains, so who knows. ^_^

oh shit I thought it was some form of Mei from Overwatch cosplay!

why

Mahershala Ali was Cottonmouth. His mid-season replacement was Diamondback.

For the record, I was not being serious, but the kid/ghost samurai thing was enough for me to make a Shaman King joke. ^_^

They haven’t said you can be a Templar, but I bet anything you’ll be given the option to join them instead. If they’re pushing that kind of narrative choice, and considering the Assassins won’t properly exist for another four centuries...Order of Ancients Kassandra, plz.
