That's one of the reasons I switched to PC. Most games come out on PC now, and you don't have to pay an extra fee to pay online. People try to justify it saying "it pays for the store, online, etc." That's bullshit. The companies pay to put demos/content on the store, and the numerous ads pay for the rest.

Agreed! I find that games like Boulder's Gate/Diablo/etc. are most fun when playing with your friends sitting next to you. Unfortunately I have none of those, so I really appreciate a good single player aspect.

I think it can be a great alternative to both. I have my PC hooked up to my TV, but it limits me to having my PC near it. It would be nice to be able to put my PC in another room while still being able to enjoy high quality games via the Steam machine.
