I wonder if this is the dealership owner’s personal ride, and it’s listed on the inventory online so he can have it as an asset owned by the shop (meaning he gets a dealer plate & tax write-offs on depreciation)

It’s very weird... this thing looks a lot like a Land Rover Series II body laid over a different chassis. Note the curve along the body-side, the split front doors (they’re all metal, but you can see the join if you look closely), the windshield and the vents below it. The front clip differs only slightly, with…
There’s a missing connector here — the ‘Don Beyer’ in “Don Beyer Special” is this guy (and his father), who opened one of (if not the) first Volvo dealerships in the mid-Atlantic
Seems like he built these in-period, and has maintained them since.
To be honest, he should go back to that dealership if/when he wants a Porsche and ask specifically for David. Reward the guy who explained things (like why he couldn’t test drive the GT3 RS) and took the time to tell his coworkers to shove it.
I agree! Frankly, as one of the last cars to have the double-din radio, a relatively cheap upgrade would put this on par with a much newer car (except in the area of fuel efficiency, which is assuredly terrible)
While in development, the G650 was marketed as the G-VI. Before it was delivered to any customers, they renamed it the G650 to make room for the G600. They realized there was space for an extended-range (and also stretched/widened) variant of the then-in-development G500.

This explains the weird mix of HK, GB, and Dubai plates on his cars.
When I was at Rennsport Reunion V a few years ago, nearly every 918 on display had a Montana plate.
Didn’t Mazda announce that CarPlay is coming to the CX-5 just before you published this review?
Do we know if the screen physically moves or if this is just an effect created on the digital display? If it moves it seems like it’s just added weight that’s waiting to break.
This is clearly a Jason Castriota design — those flat flying buttresses are straight off the SSC Tuatara and the greenhouse is just like the P4/5's
No, it’s a rearview camera that fills the mirror — it shows through the entire mirror, and is on continuously while driving.
It’s a trick because of the paint and double-flared rear fenders.
Yep! GM has recently introduced the first passenger-car system in the Cadillac CT6 and Chevy Bolt.
The dormer and faux window on the front of your garage make it look as if it was made to accommodate a car lift!
I’m jealous of Achim because he apparently gets to run this car without registering it (which means it doesn’t have to pass Germany’s strict vehicle inspections).
