While I love the front and rear fascias - the first real SUV styling innovation in a decade - the side graphic, especially the greenhouse, is derivative of the Estoque/Urus. Combine that with some awkwardness around the A-pillar, and it could be a very awkward design in real life.

I'd bet that this 'Dart wagon' will be an Audi Allroad-style crossover, sharing basically everything with the new Cherokee.

Single-digit Dubai plates are reserved for the Monarchy and governmental leaders. The current prime minister (and monarch) drives a G-Wagen with the plate '1'.

Not shown: Muggerus Marylandius, a native species to the UMD campus.

It's actually slightly different - in most parliamentary systems the ministers are drawn from the parliamentary body. In the US, secretaries of the various departments cannot be drawn from congress.

Design brief: Evos pickup.

United States Secretary of Transportation (head of the DOT). You may have seen posts about Ray LaHood on Jalopnik. He's the guy.

Part of the reason that they can make it crash regulation compliant - aluminum has nicer properties than steel.

And are much more expensive for it. Seriously, look at the cost of the hood on an A5 - it's insane.

Pedestrian crash regulations prevent it (probably). The grille/bumper area has to deform in a certain manner - and metal doesn't.

Those elegant, lovely, thin pillars.

Be honest, do you really think that the '71 Series III V-12 is the best example of an E-Type? Its both uglier and less sporting than the original, as well as being harder to maintain (who would have thought that was possible?), and thirstier.

I'll take a G65 in this color combo, thanks.

This is definitely Aventador based - the door opening and cowl hardpoints are identical to those of the Coupe. They may just be basing it off of the tub, though - adding custom front and rear subframes.

Of course it is. But the police officers working at Daytona are also emotionally stressed - most of them (hopefully) have their job to protect people, seeing a horrific crash like that isn't going to make them feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Because cops are told by NASCAR to clear the area, and either are too stupid or too unthinking to realize the consequences for jailing a reporter.

You are correct that cars can get airborne anywhere - just look at F1 drivers using each others' engine shrouds as ramps. But it has been a long time since an F1 spectator died, or even was injured seriously (IIRC). Nascar seems to have one of these every few years.

The bend in the grille is actually very cool. Especially how it brings the fender line across the front without a break.

The Russians overbuilt the landing gear on many of their aircraft to land on unimproved surfaces.
