Save $20k and buy a 2018 Golf R. I have 2 kids and a 72lb dog and the Golf R is the AWD hatch that is comfy and does it all. Downpipe and a tune and most of the sporty cars you come across won’t be an issue.

Wastegate actuator rod wore a hole in the exhaust side of my turbo on MY APR Stage 3+ MKIV jetta. I’d be pissed if I hadn’t had the kit installed for 9 yrs already on my factory longblock. One of these days I’m gonna pull that turbo and put a new housing on it.
“Uh, How much compression do you really need anyway?” love it.
How’s it going now that you’re 3 months in?
I have a 15 year old S2000 and a 12 year old Jetta. I think anyone looking at an R has already considered other things in the market. I want a new car and a new car payment so I can budget what I’m going to spend on a car. I keep getting all kinds of wonderful surprises. Yesterday it was the A/C in the S2000. I can’t…
Really? Moron street racers who didn’t take a lesson from their bible? Everyone knows what happens when you run too much NOS!
Now that we have determined that it’s a WRX. If I have a 35k Budget should I still buy a WRX over a WRX Sti? Where’s the STi Vs. WRX discussion at?
Doesn’t everyone who went to high school or college in the mid 90s know all the words to that?
This sounds a lot like how my car shopping has gone. I was sure I wanted a 2015 STi and then I drove one. It’s too plastic-y. I’ve still got a 300whp MKIV VW but I’ve been trying to move away from the VW’s after dealership issues w/ my wife’s ‘14 TDI sportwagen. We talked about ditching my s2000 and my MKIV jetta for…
I am so sick of VW Dealerships. When we bought our TDI Sportwagen last year I felt like I was at some good ole’ country Pontiac dealership. They tried to sell useless aftermarket warranties and I walked out twice before getting what I thought was a reasonable price without a pitch for a tire warranty. Then I took it…
I was just saying that 8 years ago when I had a 308whp compact sedan that we measured its quickness as compared to a Corvette C5 Z06. With my car running a100 octane map the cars were neck and neck. 8 years later and it's a whole different league. My paltry 308 whp gets blown away by the newer Mustangs and Corvettes…
bwahahahahahahahaha! People say I'm a misogynist and then I read shit like this. Faith-based books on dating? Even better. Jesus made this guy a misogynist folks. it's not even his fault.
I've had a 300+ fwhp VW for about 8 years. It's been a lot of fun. Now, the handling suffers from all of those issues you hear about w/ FWD (the not-so-stiff body w/ a solid rear beam ) But it's not as bad as you'd think. I invested a lot in suspension components and I've got a great-handling FWDer. IT doesn't corner…
