There should probably be at least something extremely well-rated on there, so how about The Big Bang Theory, "The Discovery Dissipation"? Just as a representation of pop TV

Us & Them, "Pilot."
*ahem*
What th' … Is the back-end having an issue, or did this just post early? Bc I'm getting a headline and a bunch of blank space.
So glad this new album is good & the video is awesome! Also, the sixth girl in the lineup goes to my high school.
Any thoughts on this year's Eisner nominations, everyone? Not sure if there's been an Eisner thread anywhere yet, but I think it's a reeealy interesting slate of choices, esp. the continued domination of Image (plus hawkeye) in the Continuing Series category.
Hell is other monarchs…
Last night on "What's On Tonight" :
Dick and Jane got a lot of awards for Spot News Reporting. I remember back in '73, everyone thought it was going to Watergate, but "See Spot Run Part Eight: New Approaches" won out….
So, if I come up with a joke, and decide not to post it because it's in poor taste, and then someone else makes the joke… do I like it, or flag it? Or both? Uh… just a hypothetical, of course…
Yeah, but it takes about thirty to read! Ha ha!
I've seen your Pulitzer!
Your name in lights above it,
This is your big debut,
It's like a dream come true,
And when you smile for the newspaper,
I know they're gonna love it…
Modernizing the pulitzers ideas:
- Split "Music" into "Music: Classical" and "Music: Dubstep."
Y'know, I think the pulitzers are just biased against self-contained short story collections. Especially as of late, what they're looking for is an epic, spanning at least 40 or 50 years, with two or more point-of-view characters, written in a striking way. When you eliminate everything that doesn't match those…
The poor Pulitzers always seem to get overshadowed by something. They are exactly the type of event to get overshadowed easily. Maybe they should just wait for a slow news day and then randomly release the results, beyonce-album style?
Uh, what?? The Goldfinch is set mostly in 20th century Manhattan. A Visit from the Goon Squad is set mostly in present-day USA. Tinkers is set in modern New England. Olive Kitteridge is set in Maine. The last time a Pulitzer-fiction-winner even had a black person with a lead part was in 2004! I really have no idea…
maybe i'm missing something with this comment, but no, it's funny because this show is called Silicon Valley, there's another show on HBO called Girls, and the concept of the "Valley Girl" is also a thing. From there I just mashed it together.
NEXT UP ON HBO: It's the first ever HBO crossover show, as we follow a group of female techies as they deal with their culture and generation, and also their annoying whiny voices.
Since I still haven't caught up with this series (I know, I know… I read and loved the Screw-On Head anthology, if that counts for anything) I'm commenting without reading the article… but can I just say, Sava and anyone else involved with this, that this is a GREAT idea for comics coverage and brilliant in a way that…
Wow, somehow I'd never seen that They Shoot Pictures list — that's really neat. I'm working my way through watching all the Sight & Sound films with more than 10 total votes chronologically; I like that it's a variable number of movies because 1000 is too daunting and 100 is too little.
