Just pointing out a surprising statistical coincidence, considering the sites haven't always been 100% in synch

But isn't it interesting that it wasn't any of the other critially acclaimed films, like Llewyn Davis or Nebraska or anything else. It's interesting data!

Which part? The part where I was pointing something out (I assume this is what the comment's directed towards, in which case, well, I care! I think it's interesting that two sites which are very very stingy with their high grades happened to give very high grades to the same movie), or the part where I was making a

Well, we have our first combination 5-star rating on The Dissolve and A on The AV Club… and what do you know, it's also the first 5-star rating on The Dissolve and the first AA Dowd "A" since The Dissolve started reviews (Have there been other As from other reviewers in that timeframe? I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be

The plot was pretty ridiculous and couldn't seem to figure out which aspect to explore, which worked like gangbusters with "National Anthem" but less so here since the fake news shows & everything weren't quite as spot-on… but jeez, just the visual style of this episode and the uniqueness of the content gets it a B+,

I mean, I think the obvious answer is Dana from Homela— *is shot*

Aw, that's really a shame. I like binging on network comedies in two-times fast forward (they're like live-action looney tunes, and it makes the pauses for laughter less noticeable!), and I really appreciated the way Mike & Molly actually had serialization of the central relationship; ie, every episode seemed to be

I'm not a big videogamer, but I checked in on gameological for board game & game show stuff and noticed that. I remember the commissions, though, i hadn't really thought about that but yeah it makes sense that Teti's influence would lead to more art. Anyway, nice job, man! The illustration is funny & good-looking too

I'm fairly sure Showtime is being run by Maeby Bluth. "Look, we'll just pretend to have high ratings, and then give a show another season for every extra Nielsen point we pretend it has! That way, no one finds out our shows have bad ratings!"

Dude, that's you? Wow, you're a great commenter and a great artist too! Glad to hear the art is coming from the loyal readers & not being outsourced :-)

Wow, this is maybe the best piece of AV Club custom art yet. Great work, Luke Meeken!

I've spent over $300 on comics because of you, Oliver Sava! So… thaaanks?

Yes, the Lauren Groff book… although yeah, the Stoppard play is amazing too.

Nope, as I said, it's a 2012 book. I don't usually get around to reading books until they've been out for about a year and a half. Great read, though, right?

Wow, I actually forgot that I was, but yeah, I totally was! I should have mentioned that in my comments. Majorly looking forward to this years' race! That also reminds me that Building Stories was totally my favorite book I read this year, mostly because I love comic books, Chris Ware, and postmodern experimentation

As usual I'm still reading 2012 books at this late date; but this is an awesome list! Two of your picks overlap with the NYT best books of the year choices, which is a good sign (Life After Life, Tenth Of December) and a few more made it onto the longlist (Bleeding Edge, The Infatuations, The Unwinding.)

Has that "airing the pilot halfway through the season without changing the name" thing EVER been done? It just seems like such a silly idea to have an episode named "S1-E12(or whatever)- Pilot."

Virtually every human-inhabited place on the globe, with specific concentrations in Europe and North America! WOOOO!

Absolutely, dude! Keep commenting, I'll look for your username. You should check out The Dissolve, too; it's a really great website if you have even a passing interest in film, and it could use some more strong commenters.

Are you new to the AV club, Will? I notice you haven't commented before. Well, welcome! I hope you have a good time here and don't have to deal with too many argumentative jerks like me, haha :-)
