Can anyone suggest a resource for learning how to create custom themes?

@bagano: canvas is a part of webkit. It was developed by apple for their widgets.

could this make canvas mainstream? since this is based on webkit, it has full canvas support. with the google name behind it, I can see them implementing advanced features on their web services with canvas (instead of flash).

I enjoy spending 2+ hours on the ubuntu forums to complete an everyday task that would require a few clicks on a commercial OS.

In my last interview I knew I had the technical skills so I didn't even try to impress them with that. I just focused on the fundamentals I follow and my GTD attitude. @garbanzo-bean: To each their own. It sounds like whatever you are doing is working for you, so keep at it.

The problems addressed in the list appear to come from not understanding this list's purpose.

I'm from the "less is more" camp. Give me a gradient background, windows classic, and some quicklaunch icons, and I'm good to go.

For those that think having lots of subtasks levels is overly burdensom, think of it as a form of mind mapping or planning that ends with an actionable list.
