I had a guy offer me an SM that had been sitting in a garage half disassembled (but “ran when parked” and had all the parts plus spares) if I put a tuned port 350 in his Chevy pickup for him. Part of me is glad I didn’t take him up on it, but the other part of me regrets it as SMs are friggin cool.

I’m not handy when it comes to working on most cars, but I do all the work on my own 2cv. Parts are still being made by the thousands and they’re dead cheap, there’s nothing challenging about fixing up or owning one.
Any price for a 2CV is worth it. This is an epic automobile with an even more epic history.
Between my wife and I, we have 30 cars ranging from a '57 T-Bird to an '06 Cobalt. The 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's are well represented in between. I can say every generation of cars sucks in some way.
