Give oddessy or origins a try. Best ubisoft games in years. (They are still loaded with junk to do... but it’s all actually fun junk, the revamped combat system is strong, and the plot is less confusing for no reason)

The non motion controls on the original original gamecube version were good too. Though I really wouldn't mind the option. (People play dark souls on pc with ddr pads... options are fun!)
Everyone forgets steamworks games. There are tons of de facto third party exclusive titles. In many cases these aren’t timed exclusives - the extra features added by steam like cards, workshop etc make it difficult or not worth the effort to port to a different store. This goes all the way back to skyrim.
Can someone explain why we still sell guns to saudis though.
Outside of GOG, the stores you mention are primarily there to sell that company’s games. Origin established itself by pulling EA games from steam. Gog established itself with exclusive access to rejiggered old classics and drm. (Arg, if only that’s how epic chose to stand out)
1) Growth within the company - move people into new positions where they have to learn new skills and bring new ideas
“Game development is a wildly complex art and it requires a diverse set of people and skill sets to do it successfully. It’s important for all of us to foster a studio culture that treats all team members with respect.”
I thought it was fine as is and that the combat looked like something that could be very interesting. Didn’t get the hate. But it is odd that they didn't even mention what the game structure was... like, show the bit where you choose which planet to go to at least? Anyway, this sounds even better.
If you want more, osu! is on pc with fan made song maps!
Ys series has to go on the list. 3 and 5 are a bit meh, but the remakes are good. Everything else is good.
I actually prefer soul blazer of the three. It’s so pure and distilled.
If you are building a robot to climb some mountains, you don’t even bother with Everest.
Forcing the wrong engine for the job is bad, and it seems obvious that EA doesn’t give the engine development and support team enough of a budget to handle requiring that engine to be used be all the teams at EA. Yes, you pay a percentage to epic, but you buy support and continued feature development.
Some JRPGS do this pretty well. One or two lines from an npc to do some worldbuilding and make a place feel lived in. Maybe a few more lines from somebody who is a bit more important. You don’t get a whole backstory from each person you talk to, it’s all suggestive and you can make up your own backstory for the people…
There is a pretty big difference in that the goal of 2020 was to enable RPers to create and tell a story, and Witcher was about a specific set of characters. With V I think you necesarily make it harder than the Geralt focused Witcher to tell a unique, specific story - not knowing how each player will internalize…
Yeah it’s one of those fly under the radar japanese series, kind of like persona was before about persona 3. Sometimes japanese games make an impact here and sometimes they dont. Marketing, inconsistent release strategy, bad translations, you name it. Warms my heart to see ys getting more love recently.
Better than DKC... Hahahahaha.
Yeah I have basically the opposite experience. I take the switch everywhere I go, and ergonomically its a little better than a 3ds. Ive used it solo, 2p with kickstand, and docked a roughly equal amount. I commute via train every day, which is perfect for a shrine or two in zelda.
I was very skeptical, got one on a lark because of zelda hype, and have been pleasantlu surprised. I love doing a shrine or two on the bus, and then docking at home to do a more substantial area on the big screen. Ive branched out to other games too. Shovel knight is great fun coop even with the crappy kickstand. On…
Once you are out in the world and interacting with npcs it gets more compelling. I think I spent like 5 hours just hanging out in and around kakariko village. I didnt want to leave. If youve been there and done that and still arent pulled in... its just not for you I guess. I agree the begining was a bit bland... but…
