Yes, the wife claiming to be sick (again) seemed to be for her own benefit rather than Emily's. The Ceremony is almost as humiliating for the wives as it is for the Handmaids.

I have been on the fence about him but Joseph Fiennes was terrific in this episode.

I agree that Pastor Tim is off the mark by equating what has been done to Paige as being worse than sexual abuse but there is no way Paige wants him dead. After seeing Elizabeth kill the man who attacked them, she knows what her parents are capable of but I do think she is still naive about most of their work and

This was actually the first time they took vows.

Stan looked sincerely happy about her having a relationship.

I absolutely loved the wedding scene.

Great point. I hadn't made that connection but I'm skeptical about Tuan for sure.

Absolutely. I expect we'll see a lot more of Serena Joy's path but I'm hoping at some point we get Aunt Lydia's perspective as well as Rita or another Martha.

I don't think Kevin has been able to open up to Nora about anything since she walked out on him upon hearing about him seeing Patty.

But this isn't just anyone, this is a woman whose biological children have Departed and who had to give up the adopted daughter when the bio mom re-appeared. It was crazier IMO that any mother would just hand over her baby to a stranger but it seems likely that Nora was correct that the scientists were responsible for

Yes, I think it was the season one finale. They had just found Lily and basically committed to being completely honest with one another. That stopped when Kevin admitted he he was seeing Patty and Nora bailed on him.

It's painfully obvious that Kevin is severely damaged as well. Nora's little joke about how if the radiation people ask her why she brought Kevin, she would say they were in an unhealthy co-dependent relationship was spot on. In many ways, they seem perfect for each other but that doesn't mean it's in their best

I've never actually read the Bible but I would absolutely read the Book of Kevin.

Ok, admit it. How many of you would nod?

True and it was done in front of everyone so they may have wanted to set a precedent to keep the other handmaids in line.

There was also the Watchamacallit connection. I didn't even know they were still making those candy bars and now I really want one.

I think of Jon Stewart's rants when I hear Arby's.

I wasn't sure where they were going in the beginning with the animation but I really liked that little guy by the end. "I can help!"

I know I have read about it affecting infertility but good point that it being done by a surgeon would lessen that chance.

Yes, it was absolutely FGM that was done to Emily. Typical of this society that they believe not being able to experience sexual pleasure would ensure Emily would no longer be a "gender traitor" since obviously, it is all about sex.
