They didn't have a problem taking Janine's eye out to prove a point when she mouthed off in the premiere.

Yep, that's what I'm hoping as well.

I know some people are concerned about this being an ongoing series but based on what we've seen so far, I have faith that the show knows what it's doing. It's hard to tell whether they are going to cover the whole book in this first season but even if they do, I think there are places they can go to further the

Thanks, I'll check it out.

She is beyond awful but damn, Ann Dowd is doing a great job making us despise her.

That does make sense but I can see why, in this warped world, they think that The Ceremony and all of its symbolism would yield more fruitful results.

Watching the ceremony (repeatedly) has been difficult but somehow seeing the practice session where the Handmaids come to the realization that they won't actually be injected with a "turkey baster" was even more horrific.

There was no confirmation that she is gone other than Janine saying she heard Moira's dead, right? I would be surprised if we don't see her alive when we get to the point in the book where Offred sees her in the club/party.

The confrontation with Henry was discussed on this week's podcast. They specifically shot it in the same spot in the kitchen to elicit that response from viewers and for the Jenningses to reflect back on when Paige approached them.

I'm not entirely sure but the implication is that Oleg's mother was sent to the camp to either punish her husband or at least to keep him in line so I'm sure Oleg resents him for that. And rather than accept that blame, he is basically congratulating himself that he stayed with his wife instead of just tossing her

As much as I wanted Martha to allow Gabriel into her sad life, if nothing else so she has someone to talk to that understands her former life, I completely understand why she would want no part of him. He is a reminder that she was duped into betraying her country by a man who, as far as she knows, never really cared

I keep running through the many possible end game scenarios and I have no idea either. One thing I think we can guarantee is that it won't end well for pretty much anyone.

I didn't get the feeling that that is something she even wants from him any longer. He nipped that in the bud awhile back and if the show was going to go there, I would think she would have come on to him rather than talk to him about his son.

I'm seeing A Doll's House next week. My Tony voting friend got me the tickets and had only great things to say about it.

I love how the show trusts its viewers enough not to include boring exposition when having old storylines pop up again. I was just thinking of Kimmy a couple of weeks ago and knew it was only a matter of time before we saw her again since this show doesn't forget about loose threads.

I don't think Philip or Elizabeth know Tuan as well as they think they do. They each continue to project their own feelings and belief systems onto him.

Poor Martha!

The magazine is from May 1972. I am thinking it may be the same month Kevin was born.

Was he telling Grace about Kevin Jr. or was he referring to himself? Kevin Sr. still believes he should be the star of The Bible sequel.

Sydney.
