This is yet another case of DC failing to understand that the continuity of Marvel's vehicle is really, really special, and part of why the MCU is so popular. Is there a reason why a change in tone would cause segmentation in the DC universe? Isn't that what we love about The Winter Soldier followed by Guardians of

LOLWUT they made a very Freudian allusion to painting the walls with ejaculate only seen by a black light.

Well, it does work in some other way, because if butter were easier to spread I would probably put it on everything. The butter being hard to spread coupled with my laziness ensures that I will not eat tons of butter. I NEED OBSTACLES I HAVE NO WILL POWER.

She is absolutely gorgeous *earth shakes after profound statement*

They can, but we'll have to adjust, and it will be dumb. It's the audience's burden at that point.

You may be right, but you can't pretend that the continuity isn't a lot of what is popular about this whole MCU concept. It's a big deal for what they are trying to accomplish and if/when they do just simply recast (make no mistake, I enjoy the idea of killing off a character or putting a different one in the

But Marvel has established WAY more of a continuity than Superman ever did. This just isn't the same.

I guess I can't help you, then. Isn't the idea of having a character pass/leave the idea of being a superhero far better than just convincing yourself that this new face is that other guy? The former is a burden on the storyteller which, is far better than the latter, which is a burden on the audience. Why burden

My thoughts exactly. We literally got 5 new characters about a month ago that people are crazy about in Guardians. Just continue to write new characters and stories, and then we can look back fondly on the things that were great. I don't see why that's a huge problem.

Definitely; this is what I was getting at. Why not take the opportunity to tell a new story with a new character? Having the mantle passed upon Cap's death makes the story that much more visceral. Recasting really takes me out of it, and Marvel, as you mentioned, have a variety of ways they can go with this.

Don't you say that.

I have a very hard time believing Marvel will continually make up new characters to fill these roles; it's much, much easier to just hire new actors for the same role, exactly like they did with Hulk.

I still think this is the most frightening movie poster, ever.

This is related but not necessarily a criticism of any XB1 functionality: I have given up on paying for cable and I do not regret it one single bit.

More Kyle MacLachlan. Always more Kyle MacLachlan.

"Marvel's doing everything humanly possible to dodge the more ... problematic issues of the comics version of Hank Pym."

If I had to guess, I would say we'll see Vin again in another Marvel role. They can always cast him in an actual face-time role and have him voice Groot a la Paul Bettany's Jarvis/Vision.

Or, you know, a band.

I can't believe Cosmo is in this film. Or, rather, I probably wouldn't have believed you a couple of years ago. I would have said "This movie is going to be crazy, for sure, but no Cosmo, probably). Here's hoping he and Rocket get into many an argument.
