salaminizer
salaminizer, it's a me the
salaminizer

this is really weird, interrupting sales in the middle of the weekend for some marketing ploy doesn't make much sense, and closing suddenly without any sign of troubles is not THAT common too (it's different from APB, where the company was dead and they were just trying to find a new owner).

Now playing

Tell me this music is not equal to the one in my reply

now hopefully a team of awesome guys led by an awesome guy won't "ruin" CiV by making an awesome mod such as Fall From Heaven 2, and will let me play "vanilla" CiV for a while.

@Kobun: yeah, it's real volleyball, I think we have enough beach volleyball games! I'll take a look at Waku Waku, thanks.

so, volleyball. why don't we have a Volleyball 2k11 or EA Sports Volleyball or even some indie guys trying to do one?

as far as I know the game didn't even have a proper worldwide launch. I can't even see the game on Steam (Brazil).

@Llewyn: well, the reasons were different, it merged/was acquired first and then they had some problems. I know it's not a rule, but after a huge flop it's tough to survive.

@develin: how so? I only heard bad things about it. the fact that the company that made it closed says something about it, doesn't it?

Analyze This!

@Joez: ah, if it was the announcement trailer then it's not that bad. the lastest Deus Ex: Human Revolution trailer had some gameplay in it along with CG (I think it was CG), it was quite good.

@Joez: well, if it does show gameplay elements it's fine by me. but everything you listed could be done in a gameplay trailer. Dragon Age had that "epic" trailer in the snow, with Morrigan shapeshifting and all... that's VERY different from what actually happens in the game (and shapeshifting sucks!)

maybe one day I'll understand why people get excited with trailers that don't show ANY kind gameplay.

(now) I think it's funny how people are all over a game that was MOSTLY (but not ENTIRELY) a copy & paste from another one in the same "series" (and, setting aside, actually removed stuff that mattered like permanent choices)

Kraner... Bernie?

I think they should rename the game to "XCOM - This is not really X-COM", that way we can love or hate it without forgetting to say it.

@Jerkface: well, considering that it would be an OPTION, you could just take the normal skill allocating route instead of cheating a test that's supposed to be more immersive than really "useful"

@GenocidalTeddy: yes, but the GOAT was a psychological test, this one would have specific questions.

what if, say, Fallout: New Vegas had some sort of Super Hardcore mode (it would be an OPTION, mind you!) where your skills were decided on a knowledge test? would it be more immersive or just suck?

congratulations!
