@Eviltim: you can buy the normal retail edition. Civ V will require Steam, so once you pop in the disc it will ask you to install Steam, create an account, etc

I love games that turn 5 minutes into 30. the lastest one for me is X³: Terran Conflict. yesterday I wanted to play a BIT of it, but when I look at the clock I saw I was playing for 30 minutes!! and I even use SETA (a ship upgrade that increases the game speed).

@gundaman: I haven't played that one yet, but reading some discussions (rather than reviews which just hailed it as the second coming) I was put off by some aspects... basically, everything that made it become more of a shooter than a shooter-RPG (like System Shock 2).

new combat mechanics that put you right in the heart of battle, a new visual style and a main character. I don't really like the sound of it, but let's see.

I would love to, but I can't play Tap Tap. my wrist hurts after only one song. at least I "learned" to like Jet, She's a Genius is awesome.

@Psychtaygar: all the non-daily deals. let's take the Capcom games, for example. the discount is "only" 33%, but there's no guarantee that they won't pick Resident Evil 5 and sell it for $14.99 on tomorrow's deal.

remember: don't buy a regular discounted game until the last day.
