Wow, it’s like a refreshing punch to the face (those exist, right?) to see a public figure (a politician at that) with so much grace. While the other side ran a campaign of hate she grabbed the issues the public cared about by the horns and ran with them.

She makes me feel hopeful and fired up! What a rare feeling, these days.

Danica, Chris Hurst, Lee Carter, all ran some amazing campaigns. I’m so impressed with her, not just the brilliance of her campaign, but her poise and intelligence, and just general kindness. Couldn’t think of a better replacement for Bob the Bigot.

You’re doing an awful lot of projecting onto Ariely’s pretty bland statement that both the asking and the agreeing are mistakes. Yep— they screw us on taxes, nobody helps us with expenses, all of it. But the tradeoff is you get to save more money when it’s just you. And you don’t have to operate on anyone else’s schedule when you’re on vacation. I don’t care about any of the disadvantages, because the alternative is SO much worse.

The point of this is that DV perpetrators who already have guns are more likely to then commit extradomestic violence, not that guns = no dead DV victims (although obvs that helps).

Preventing violent men from obtaining deadly weapons they can use to shoot the girlfriends they’re already beating seems like an easy one!?! Come on guys. We can do this.
