What if an iPad dock is built in to the back of each auditorium seat facing backward. Then the reporters only need to use a standard BT keyboard on their lap to type. They can even use a full size BT keyboard.

I actually have a simple explanation to this. She probably got her iPad with the view mode switch locked to portrait mode and never noticed that little switch above the volume buttons. She may not know there is a landscape mode at all.
Iris is just an app someone wrote, they can ripoff anyone they want but it's not Google or Android's fault.
It already happened at AT&T! Your unlimited plan is now exactly the same as the 3G limited plan. The only different is once you passed 3G with the unlimited plan, you connection become unusable while you can still use your phone with the limited plan but you'll be paying crap loads of money for it.
So what's so good about AT&T's "unlimited" plan? They switch you to the "unusable" speed when you go over 3GB, exactly the same as the "limited" plan.
