The cancer-free date guy reminded me of another super desperate and clueless dude: I had gone on a few lukewarm dates with a guy I met online. He was nice, but I just wasn’t sure if it was going anywhere yet. One Friday, we had plans to meet up that night, but that afternoon, my family found out that my grandmother

I don't hate her, and maybe she has the best potential as a ruler now that she has a real adviser. I just don't think her hubris is earned and it is silly for her to call Westeros her home and non-Targaryen rulers "usurpers". Targaryens were the original usurpers and she hasn't lived in Westeros since she was born.

She's got tunnel vision just like her brother had and it is getting worse. Like you said, how does she expect to conquer Westeros when she can't even keep Meereen in line? Dragons are great, but you have to be able to ride one first…..and then what?

The White Walkers, the war they are bringing, is what is going to "break the wheel". Those who win that war will be the ones who consolidate power in Westeros, or not, if the WW win…..I don't think they care much for politics.

You're pretty perceptive, because I read that Matthew Weiner teased the finale by mentioning that it would mirror the first episode.

My first post-college job interview was with one of these outfits. Went through the first part of the interview, it’s all good, and I show up for the “job shadow” part. A red flag should have gone up when they explained why they do the “job shadowing”.....apparently a lot of people they hire don’t understand the

If the end of this season coincides with the end of Jon's POV chapter in ADWD, he's going to need Melisandre back at the Wall.

If set photos are correct, Tyrion will be at Dany's right hand when she attends the opening of the fighting pits (and there are pictures of Jorah fighting in said pits). So I guess it goes down much like Tyrion guessed…..Dany would see Tyrion as useful and punish Jorah for returning.

Would the Battle of Ice really be a TWOW spoiler? Jon gets the letter from Ramsey saying that *SPOILER* Stannis is dead, etc etc in ADWD. So the battle occurs during ADWD, we just don't know for sure if Ramsey is telling the truth about the outcome (maybe that will stay up in the air at the end of this season, as

In the books, doesn't it just start with numbness in the fingers, before it starts to harden your hands…..which would indicate that the incubation period at least takes a few days.

IIRC, there is a chance you can stop its spread in children and save their sanity/life, but it can't be stopped in adult sufferers. But I don't recall the effects developing as fast as they are in Jorah.

Oh no, I actually don't want that SFU-type ending at all (though it would be a fun bit of fan service). And I also don't think Weiner would end the show that way.

When he showed up this season as Gene, I wanted to throw something at the TV. The final seasons of SOA were painful enough without that child's dead-eyed glare, and here he is, stinking up my final episodes of Mad Men.

Yeah, I wouldn't think that a WWII vet telling a story about simply killing surrendering enemy combatants to avoid sharing rations would not justify the kind of lead up that story had. The implications of cannibalism seemed pretty clear to me.

Especially since Don obtained a legal divorce from the real Don Draper's wife years after the real Don Draper died. That would lend some legitimacy to his claim, I would think.

I said years ago that if, during the finale, we got a Six Feet Under-style "what happens to everyone when they die" montage, we'd see Betty die of lung cancer. I always pegged her as the one to get it. Vindication, but a teary one.

Semantics :)

My stray observation responses: I think the death of Ser Barristan leaves a Tyrion-sized spot open for a wise, Westerosi advisor. Also, I think Melisandre knows that Jon has king's blood running through his veins and wanted to see if she could make a killer smoke baby with him, maybe one she could send to Winterfell.

Since beers in Utah are only allowed to have something like 4% ABV, you’ll need many misbegotten free refills before it makes it worth your while.

It's legal until it is annulled (if marriage works more or less the same way in Westeros as it does in the here and now).
