I will admit when I lived in MD I paid for the “save the bay” plates, but I justified that as the extra $ going to charity and the normal Maryland plates being ugly.

Try a vada pav if you ever get the chance! A delicious potato patty slider-sized sandwich.

I did the math to comment on a Lifehacker post, and I’ve realized I’ve paid over $72k on my Parent PLUS student loans since 2013, and my balance has gone up $6k. Six figures of debt until I die, baby.

Yes I saw the headline and thought “Michael Hobbes would have something to say about the statistics in her caption.”

I know an anecdote isn’t data, but I have paid off the student loans in my own name (sold my car, lived in a group house, worked extra jobs, etc.) but still have the unsubsidized Parent PLUS loans.

I felt so petty for thinking it, but Ashley Biden has all of the bone structure Ivanka couldn’t even manage to buy.

I grew up with egg creams being a treat, so in theory creamy carbonated drinks aren’t a bad idea to me.

I made tortellini soup for the first time and it was so good. It was my usual go-to kale and white bean soup, but adding the tortellini helped thicken up the broth a bit.

My mom read mine when I was in middle school, and I know this because she talked about it with my (10 years older than me) sister. So I had to deal with knowing my private musings were not only read, but discussed by my family. Messed up our relationship irrevocably. And it wasn’t justified, I was a gifted student who

I found out this morning that my mom has Covid, along with my brother and sister in law at least. My sister may have been exposed as well. My mom stopped at her house on her drive home.

That to me was the only perk. I’m picturing someone robbing me and winding up with a grain bowl while I keep my wallet and phone.

I had luck with Lowe’s vs Home Depot.

The video he posted dancing to WAP while he’s being hosed down is unironically one of the sexiest things I’ve seen during Covid. WAP indeed.

I love my air fryer/instant pot combo. It was a new addition in my new apartment, I left my old instant pot for my ex and was planning to take my mom’s since she isn’t a fan. My dad got me the combo for my birthday, and it has been perfect for single person cooking.

I decided not to decorate, because moving was expensive, and then getting a dog was expensive, and I’m antsy thinking about student loan payments restarting next year. But I see everyone else dialing the festivities up super high this year and I’m bummed I skipped it. I have twinkle lights around my bed all year and

My last “normal” night was a fundraising event for work in early March, where members of our board flew in from around the country, except the person representing the PNW, because he’s based in Seattle where cases were high and he didn’t feel like he could leave. Attendees were mostly local or from New York. It was a

My ex liked this and I’m annoyed it’s in my Netflix queue. A petty thing to be annoyed about, but Netflix is really insistent that I must have forgotten I want to watch it, so if it keeps showing clips while I browse, I’ll suddenly remember that I want to watch it.

Flower fight show or whatever that was called was pretty bad. Had some funny moments, and I love the host from What We do in the Shadows, but such an odd show.

The first season or so of Grimm was so enjoyable, then it just jumped into crazy plot drama instead of “what creature of the week will it be this time” which I think was its strength. I read spoilers about what was going to happen to convince my ex that it wasn’t going to get better, and that we could stop watching

I was visiting my aunt and was surprised that her method to reheat rice was to put it in a colander and pour boiling water over it. Probably a bit much if you’re going to microwave anyway, but I’ve always enjoyed the results when I do this, it really refreshes the rice.
