I use the buckets in my savings account for this.

“Lippie” for lipstick is mine. Just awful.
I really do love pressing it. Freezing then pressing can turn a block into a patty half an inch thick and I love that texture. I fry that, then slice it so that there’s some crispy but a lot of inside to soak up whatever broth/sauce is happening.
I got one of these for free from a construction salvage store. I spray painted it and added a top (since it used to be a top cabinet) and put it in the corner of my dining room (no space in my apartment kitchen) and have it set up as my baking storage (flours and stuff inside, stand mixer on top,) and it is so nice to…
I just counted and it was March 7th for me because we had a board meeting and that was my last day in the office.
I tried to wear earrings the last time I went out, but even studs felt odd with a mask. I should pop some in for the weekly staff video chat.
I’m so pale the custom background we used for a Zoom party at work overlaid the background over my face. That was fun.
She really is a role model for the kind of life I hope to lead. My boyfriend and I recently looked at a house out in the country (we can’t afford much closer into our city) and it was nice to imagine having the space to invite my friends from the city to have weekends in the country where I could turn my hosting up to…
Most days I’ve found I like to take a walk with an easy, low-thinking audiobook between work and my evening to have that break. But today, my office is hosting a virtual bridal shower for a colleague who had to cancel her wedding, and I’m really looking forward to the pitcher of mojitos I made. If I sit on my balcony…
I did a poll asking my friends if they’d be interested in me turning my IG stories into a cooking show. I posted my meal plan for the week, and have been updating on how I’m being flexible and trying new things when the store was sold out of staples, planned produce was bad, using up those random pantry things that…
I was wondering what trickster god he made a bargain with. He seems to consistently get work, but it’s just always off.
Yes this exactly. My boyfriend keeps asking to come on walks with me, and I’m just not interested. A walk is a time for me to decompress, listen to an audiobook or a full Broadway album, not try to converse when I’m almost out of breath. I feel like a romantic stroll is a random thing that can happen, not in my usual…
I’m the exact same way. I’ve been a vegetarian since I was a little kid, but my cousin recently became vegan and is so militant about it, and I just don’t get it. I had to check if he was the one suing BK, because he did a long Facebook post about the burgers not being vegan because they were cooked on a meat grill.
When I was home over the holidays my mom took me to a buffet we used to frequent, and they had a number of stations that they permanently closed (like the diy stir fry, sushi, dessert, etc.) It seems like they’re trying to narrow their options to stay afloat, but I can’t help but wonder if the half-open optics are…
Hitting the breakfast buffet the day of our final dress rehearsal was a proud tradition for my high school theater program. I’d forget that it existed for other meals too.
I tend to mostly read urban fantasy, and re-read the same few authors that I love when I’m stressed. The step I’ve taken to feel like I’m improving myself lately has been to read books by authors of different backgrounds (most recently “How Long til Black Future Month”) to feel like I’m getting some different…
I remember watching Rome with my dad and there being so many sex scenes. Really a terrible choice for parent/child watching, which isn’t HBO’s fault, but there were only so many times we could both awkwardly look away and talk about the weather.
RIP to the Toast and this series I revisit every year this is announced: https://the-toast.net/tag/the-sexiest-man-alive/
I’m currently doing a walk/run program that I made up with a more gradual increase than the couch-5k, so we’ll see how it goes. And I bike the in-between days so that I don’t kill my knees and shins.
