I might be missing the point here, but surely the key message is Don’t stop and park up on the freeway, as other people will drive into you...?

perhaps it is a Darwin moment for climate deniers?

I have a very old car which has been in the family forever and carries a lot of sentimental value. If I ever happen to be in a hail storm in it and there’s an overpass, I’ll sure as hell will try to find shelter under it. Parts for the car are unobtanium.

Did I miss the part about why it’s unsafe to pull off the road under an overpass? Or are we just stating the obvious that you shouldn’t block the freeway?

I was once forced to take shelter from a tornado .under an overpass on the KS turnpike. Back then (before cellphone warnings), it was possible to get caught by surprise like that. I was driving a semi, lightly loaded, and the tornado was heading towards me from the side. Most of the 4-wheelers on the highway that day

Taking inspiration from China I see.

It’s usually people avoiding hail, though. I didn’t encounter it so much until the last ten years, as if something is affecting our weather patterns...

Yeah! It’s not like using your phone while driving has ever led to any accidents or problems!

“there’s a massive accident spanning across every lane of traffic.” - is this confirmed? Because it looks like the people in the front are just idiots blocking the entire freeway to stay under the overpass. No accident seen.
