Supercar is a relative term (which is why the new term "hypercar" really bugs me) so I think the C8 could've been considered a supercar not for performance but for construction, finish, exclusivity etc but now (if they still made them) it wouldn't because of the gorgeous Airelon (a definite supercar)

I think it's more to do with the model relative to the others. Testarossa wasn't a flagship (right?) and didn't have other superlatives attached to it like fastest etc. The F1 was the fastest 0-60, probably fastest 0-100 etc, highest top speed for over a decade, cost a million and while it was comfortable and well

Hey Tavarish I'm a big fan of your articles and am a longtime Jalop and have authorship on Oppo too can I get a follow so I can be OUT OF THE GREY??! Tx :D

I LOVE IT!!

ALREADY*

Must be - One of the 10 special design requirements was that it must maintain room temperature in the cabin at 200mph whilst being quiet enough for conversations to take place without raised voices!

I know man, every site on the net is like this now

Has to be the highest ratio of stars to Kinja posters EVER

The UK's Autocar reports that it will be a very special Ferrari indeed. There will be just 10 of them built. Each is a dramatically revised version of the F12 with a new nose, wings, doors, a bespoke interior and a convertible top. And each will cost about $2.5 million to liberate you from your cash.

Watching the other vid of their slide in '12, it's clear why they now run a rear wing :)

Curious about this: If the truck somehow had a 36khp engine would it be able to achieve the same speed? -15% powertrain loss (probably -20% for a drivetrain that could handle this) so maybe it needs 20% more power than total of the jet engines but "equalised" would jets just be better at high-speed propulsion or is

A beefier version of the Hammer?! Nice!

Came here to say Diablo GT <3

But the Asterion makes me think that maybe, just maybe, that won't be a bad thing. You can't argue with the 910 horses this car has when its engine and electric motors work together, and you can't argue with its good looks, either.

Downforce that turns off in corners right? Otherwise it would be pushing the front out...I always wondered if a bike would come out with flaps on the sides angled so that they push against the wind to counteract the centrifugal force of the bike on the same plane - I drew this on paint ages ago when I first wondered

But it's weird that someone didn't take it to "just" a speed that could beat an existing record; it looks like it would be even more unaerodynamic than a bike (I learnt recently that bikes have cd values double of cars) so it probably wouldn't hit the ridiculous 300mph+ speeds people were talking about when this was

On the flipside: Being exposed to these fumes to a hazardous level means you either sit in lots of new cars or you just got one - a good indicator of Things Going Right!
