It's happening to your post too! It's ok cos I wasn't recommending ;)

I work for VW Financial Services - Skoda being one of the sister marques, comes up in conversation and work a lot (and because of the 20% staff discount, some colleagues have em as well). SkOw-da. That's how it's pronounced here and while technically all countries should follow the native country's proper

It's a car for Evo fans really. A more general enthusiast with 50k , that FQ is not in his top 10!

Oh, because you gave the $ price I thought you were saying if you were to buy it in the US and I was saying it'd be a lot cheaper, but really it's just an assumption because I'm so used to seeing £ £ £ especially now that I work for Volkswagen Financial Services that anyone saying a price in $ is talking US to me :D

$80k converting the UK price to USD. I've noticed with many higher-end cars (eg Stingray and SRT Viper) that you can pretty much switCh the $ to £ to get their local prices in each country (yes, a $60k Stingray is well over 6figures here, in $)

Skoda Yeti! Very versatile crossover (and the only crossover I will ever respect). The brand itself has a fantastic reputation, some VW parts bin with good quality finish. Handles like a car with >1700l interior capacity and apparently the interior is highly configurable (seating and space). Top-spec engine is 2.0 TDI

Back in the 230mph days right? Now apparently they are ~800hp

Imagine if this was a plan by Nissan and the agency. Nissan get all the publicity without any negative image of being responsible for it!

*sigh* cars were so sleeeeek back then :)

Chrome isn't bad, it's bad when used inappropriately. Thus obviously the old cars are exempt >:l

Wow. I would never have recognised that car as an Astra! The Astras here (Vauxhall) are all hatchbacks and are popular with UK police.

They seem like they could be somewhat functional, and the Z28 does make significant downforce. So even if in this car it only gains a few % more benefit to aerodynamics it's better than not, right? Yes I'm assuming that they have that little bit of effectiveness but the beauty of diffusers, even a compromised one (not

It's inevitable now bud, I'm pretty sure that part is included for side impact testing - which is the reasons why waistlines have been going up recently across all cars :/ And your version of the hood (with an appropriate rake-up toward the end leading to windscreen) would actually be more aerodynamic than original,

Is the cabin's size limited by the size of the envelope? Or is there another reason the cabins I've seen are all about this big?

See the cheeky guy walk away too (whistling inaudible)!

Reminds me of the Avus!

I love homologation cars :) Some of the most special cars on the planet. There are many "entry-level" classics like Delta Integrale, 205 t16, GT-Four, 5 Turbo, but going with your theme:

Relatively most cheerful collection of "mugshots" I've ever seen :D

Probably not actually as most SUVs have same tyre width front and rear, commonly exceeding 300 too. Hummer H1 had 335s or 345s all around. I am just speaking of road cars here tho. But also, I commented my comment to say the new Z/28 has 305s all around, which are apparently the widest front tyres on a production car!

This is the Camaro — the Camaro, ladies and gentlemen — that somehow managed to lap the 'Ring in 7 minutes and 37 seconds, which puts it ahead of both the 911, the 911 Carrera S, and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. And it did it in nasty weather, too.
