It's a period colour (not literally, that would be worrying) that suits older cars....or maybe that's because we've seen older cars in that colour

It's relative too, it's not flattering at all on the A5 but that picture is horrible. Looks lovely on the R8 but having surroundings and natural light makes it all....meld more

The Focus looks fine (ST) in that colour as much as it doesn't on the pickup truck. Odd colours can almost always pull off on small cars but never on big ones.

With mixed emotion I say it's purely to go with the jet fighter concept. Like the break glass for rescue sticker to the right. While it's cool, I hate non-functional stuff on cars tacked on for x and y reason, especially on a car of this calibre.
