Soooo as someone who works in outdoor recreation in our nation’s last beautiful places, I probably think about this too much and more seriously than other people.

Was thinking the same thing.  I like green leaf lettuce as a compromise between romaine and iceberg. Also, I can buy cleaned green leaf and romaine -- whole leaves -- in a package. I have to clean and spin iceberg, because it doesn’t hold up as well once its washed.

Agreed. I still bristle a bit at the word “vegan” even though it is an accurate way to refer to a food. And some of those are pretty good. Especially vegan desserts. Whatever they’ve come up with to subsitute for milk and eggs has made from some pretty good ones I’ve had.

One of our three cats has been around humans her entire life - she was born in our house in fact - but she hates being picked up and goes into hiding if anyone other than my wife or I is in the house. Not sure why.

I think that this is a foundation for kittens. The more that they’re handled by humans, the more comfortable they are to human interaction. Our current cat is the first rescue we’ve had, and we got him at 2 months instead of 4 from a breeder. He’s been handled constantly, and we made a point to handle his paws…

Oh, for sure they’re closely related. Of course, mayo is also essentially just a thick vinaigrette. I like how much these concepts overlap.

Freeze them whole in gallon bags as you get them. Then the skin comes off super easily, and you can take as many bags out as you want at a time to make sauce.

A taco macaroni casserole... I love this.

Yeah I would just do this with quick pickles.
