The lettuce on the main image looks way too green to be iceberg. I’m betting it’s romaine. Iceberg lettuce is usually a lot lighter green in color.

I’ve been splitting regular casserole recipes in half using 8x8 dishes instead of 9x13. I make one half for dinner and put the other half in the freezer for a future meal.

I have a very streamlined wardrobe in the first place, so packing for trips is pretty easy. For my regular wardrobe, I only have black and gray pants, shorts, sweaters, etc. I have just enough colorful tops to get me through two weeks of work and play (between laundry days), which coordinate with the black and gray

A vehicle stopped abruptly at a red light in front of a barley truck near Logan, Utah, on August 13; the truck’s driver made a swift turn to avoid hitting the vehicle and instead spilled 15 tons of barley across 1400 North.

Unless the sidewalk is already narrower than 36", the city should be able to install bollards between the back of curb and sidewalk, and still comply with ADA. I really don’t think that the additional stop signs are going to help.

One of our kitties is super skittish, and always hides when people come over. We think she spent her first 8 or 9 months as a feral kitten, so she wasn’t socialized to humans. She hates being picked up, and it was absolute hell when we had to give her antibiotics a while back.

We ended up getting some really weird wedding gifts, because I was stupid and followed the advice from the etiquette ‘experts’ that you shouldn’t include your registry information in the invitations. (We had a wedding website that directed people to the registry, but apparently not many people looked there.)

Indeed. But why wouldn’t you put garlic in it?! You can never have too much garlic! (Unless you are a vampire, I guess)

I haven’t had much luck with scottevest, unfortunately. The women’s jackets, at least, are not curvy enough for me 😩

True, but I think they are similar enough that they would be within the same family of spreads, even if they are not the same species. It just depends on the specific recipe you are using.

That’s a specific ‘style’ (or lack thereof) where it’s supposed to look like the shorts are way too short, emphasized by the pockets sticking out. It’s not generally a style that lends itself well to casual or even ‘activewear’ type clothing. I don’t think most adult women are going to be wearing shorts that short.

We have one of these from Pampered Chef. It works great most of the time, but not on large-size cans (think tomatoes from Costco) or cans with angled sides (canned salmon). I have to use a regular can opener on those. I don’t know if it’s a material thickness thing, or if the can opener is designed for a specific

I am a woman who doesn’t understand the hatred for cargo shorts. I mean, they are immensely useful. I have a pair, though the womens’ ones have the side pockets flat against the leg, and are still too small to fit my phone. Though, my husband and I are not at all fashion-conscious, so that could be part of it.

Some brands do *kind of* give you length options. They will have a ‘short,’ ‘regular,’ and ‘tall’ version of each size, but it is definitely still not enough variety.

Only 5% of women’s pockets can fit a man hand, meaning I have to keep my severed man hands in an NPR tote bag, which is honestly just a mild inconvenience.

Why would the first person hold the door twice? I would think that the person who goes through the first door then holds the second door for the other person. Unless the door-holder rushes around the door-holdee in the vestibule so they can feel chivalrous? Or if the holdee has an armload of stuff, in which case they

And yes, I do agree that aioli is superior to plain mayo :)

She actually does mention aioli towards the end of the article. Really, the last portion of the article kind of invalidates the whole ‘millennials are killing mayo’ thing, since she talks about aioli, kewpie mayo, and a few other mayo-based or mayo-adjacent spreads that are really popular with millennials. It was kind
