The main ingredient in aioli is mayo...

I grew up eating what we called ‘Mexican Macaroni,’ which was basically homemade hamburger helper. I’ve since bulked it up with some vegetables/legumes. I make it fairly regularly.

I’d be more worried that the 2- and 4-year-olds are going to try to feed lasagna to the cat, personally. And if they do, is this woman going to attempt to give some strangers’ cat a bath to wash off the inevitable lasagna goop? Does she know that alliums like onion and garlic are poisonous to cats? There are so many

Can this be done one pickles you’re going to can? Or is it just for quick pickles? I would think canned pickles would get too soft if you grilled the veggies first.

I was just going to post a question about whether this was related to Wansink. I mean, it would have been great if the research held up, but science doesn’t care what we want.

I’m pretty sure the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster encourages its followers to eat copious amounts of pasta, so that might be an outlier... ;)

I use pampelmousse La Croix in mine. I like Squirt as a mixer, too, but I am one of those weird people who doesn’t like to drink sweet drinks. With the La Croix I can have more than one without feeling like my tongue is coated in syrup.

This is just an anecdote, but my mom waited to get hers out until she was in her 40s. The oral surgeon said that since the roots had grown so much, removing them actually weakened her jaw. He said she should have had them out when she was younger.

Totally came here to post that!

I am in a garlic CSA this year, so I may have to try this with some different varieties of garlic to see if they bring out different flavors. Any excuse to eat garlic bread, right? ;)

I really liked Spook when I read it a few years ago. That said, I think she was a bit too credulous when it came to mediums and spirits and all that. Sure, science hasn’t uncovered very much about the nature of consciousness as of yet, but the experiments that have been done, which she goes over in the book, all point

When I was growing up in the late 80s and 90s, my parents were on the whole ‘fat is bad’ kick. I grew up eating light miracle whip, margarine, skim milk, fat free salad dressings, and freaking Snackwells cookies. Everything was horrible.

Can you ‘stack’ the rebates from cash-back apps? For example, can I use both Ibotta and SavingsStar on an item, or do I need to pick one? The rebate is from the manufacturer for both apps, right?

I’m going to go ahead and own it. For a family of two (husband and myself) we average about $1,200 per month. That includes eating out, some junk food, and alcohol. Yes, it is more than we should be spending, but we both enjoy food.

It’s always better to find out about this stuff before it’s an emergency! :)

Our plan is apparently ‘grandfathered’ under the ACA, so I’m not sure if that made a difference or not. This happened back in October, so all the charges were on last year’s deductible. I don’t know if I can still go back and review the charges to see if they overcharged us or not.

Two questions:

We learned this the hard way last year on a vacation to Disney World. On our second day there, my husband started having some abdominal pains. We went to an urgent care clinic, the doctor pressed on my husband’s stomach, and sent us to the emergency room. Appendicitis. We went in at 10 a.m., and he didn’t have the

Here in Omaha, there are a few restaurants that serve reuben egg rolls, because reubens were born in Omaha. I haven’t tried any yet, because my husband hates sauerkraut and I don’t want to eat a whole order myself, but they sound delicious.

If you were eating a fruit-only diet, I feel like you would be missing out on some of the more bitter compounds found in the vegetable (non-fruit) parts of the plant. Some of the bitter compounds can provide essential nutrients. Most plants that propagate via animals eating their fruit and distributing their seeds
