NP for a masochist who hates reliability.  There are those who would love this as an initial, & ongoing, project (&, oh yeah, to drive).  The asking price is about right.  If you really need a spare tire, all that you need is sheet metal, a ball peen hammer, & pop rivets.  Welding my ass.

I concur. American automotive manufacturers could (would?) not build subcompact cars well. The Japanese cars ran like a top, & at least twice as long as their American counterparts. Significantly more fuel efficient too.

I would think that you would need a turbo and a limited slip to haul 9 people, some of them adults, plus equipment.

Even a peak Malaise Era 1975 165 HP 350 would be an improvement, & I would approve.  Hopefully he had a little more.  Moot point because “had”, tho.

Oh no: not the whole coupe/sedan crap again!

At least it’s a stick.

No dados at that price. Si at 12000 for what it is. The dashboard is weird. Touchscreens don’t have any place for the driver of a vehicle, but I’m probably preaching to the choir here. But otherwise solid asshauler that I like, objectively.

Where are the chicks that like the cars that just drive well?

Going against the grain today. Asking price is fair for what is being offered. It looks to be in turn-key, DD shape. Can stand a little work but can wait. It shouldn’t be too difficult to yank out the subwoofers if you’re not a particular type of audiophile. It’s even smogged for California use. Looks like there isn’t

But I wonder how they test fuel efficiency. Dynos are fine & dandy but they aren’t the real world.

Yup, manual transmission usually means vinyl seats, AM radio, dog dish hubcaps; rather than climate control, HUD, upgraded engine, etc.

So you’d rather reminisce about hooking up rather than actually doing it?

Thank you for doing your part!

Makes sense. The less eligible teens express an interest to drive, the bigger desire of those fewer teens to drive for real e.g. using all 3 pedals, rather than just be able to drive to the mall whenever the hell they feel like it. If that’s what it takes to save the manuals, then so be it.

A distant 2nd reason for disowning any of my potential kids is being a Dolphins fan.  (Buffalonian here.  If you know, you know.)

I assume that Mr. Emslie did not grow up anywhere near the US (that should cover Canada), so his talk of estates, utes, bonnets, Vauxhalls, & driving on the wrong side of the road don’t pique my attention in the least.

I was totally on board, even in the Bobby & Cindy seat, until the whole shut off at random thing. What if that situation gets worse? What if that’s an indication of something worse? What if it shuts down while Mannix is chasing me? 4000 bucks & I could get screwed, or at least thoroughly beaten up.

Hopefully all that torture has paid off with the sapiosexual crowd.

The fact that this has a new battery is the reason that I didn’t forego considering this & instantly click on the CP button.

If it runs decently, what the hell. The asking price is a few ticks above beater money, & yeah, it’s a bit of a beater, but it’s a bit of a collector car too. For the price, you can get a beater Honda, a decent Chevy or Ford for your kid, or this.
