When you’re considering which vehicle to use for beater duty, you choose the 1 with the slushbox. Save the ones with all 3 4 pedals from the salt. Makes sense to me.
My choice would be the 1 based on the Supra, all 3 pedals of course.

Unfortunately, as Krieger tells it, more and more of these roadside gems are “standardizing” to fit modern brand guidelines.

I don’t have a direct answer for this. All I know is that the Toyota 4 bangers of this era are bulletproof. This is a rare case where I would rather have this than the available engine with more cylinders. I leave it to you to draw inferences.
