I hope it is

Yeah, especially since in their first encounter the father really didn’t show any remorse or regret over his own actions. The weight this show puts on Luke in that situation is not only ridiculous, but also feels like a really bad message on how to deal with toxic family relationships.

his anger is preventing him from reconciling with his father.

I would agree if this was our world, but since this is a world where chi can heal people and nightshade can make you bulletproof, I’m thinking that her holistic medicines might have more legitimacy than the ones in our world.

On Claire, what drives me nuts there is that nothing she is actually is helpful to Luke. If he honestly deeply seated justified issues with his father, the first step is to actually address them before talking to his father. Yet Claire isn’t trying to get him to talk about those with her, she’s pushing him to talk

I think there were 5 references to this in the first 2 or 3 episodes alone. At least 3 by people who shouldn’t know about that metaphor.

That Misty stuff is what making me most concerned for this season, even if it is just a small thing. One of the things that kind of worked at the end of the first season was that the show committed to Misty being a horrible cop and directly responsible for the death of an innocent witness. Yet these first two episodes

Because family. Family is everything in American pop culture. It’s the concept perpetually shoved down our throats in copious amounts of entertainment. No matter how terrible the people who happened to give you birth (or are your cousins thrice removed), you gotta love them, forgive them and seek their participation

Not sure why you need to blame your whiteness; there’s probably no black secret here. Maybe his mom gave birth to him in Jamaica and left him there. Or he has other ancestors who immigrated to the Harlem and established themselves. Or his family funded or was promised a piece of Harlem and got screwed over.

Luke thinks he’s invincible with his 100 damage reduction against normal weapons and he’ll be in for a huge surprise when Bushmaster comes in with his +1 fists.

Wow Misty is a horrible cop. Like are we supposed to think she’s good at this because she breaks the rules and has nothing to show for it?

While I’m not black, I am a 6'2" 200+lb male who has been playing female characters since the first Diablo. Nearly always the best decision.

As a black man, when given the option, I always play as a white woman so start with any of the female characters if you ask me.

I hate the two-party system, and it’s also stupid for people to vote third party as it stands today. Those aren’t incompatible thoughts. Third parties are simply not viable in a winner-takes-all system. This merely splits the vote (look at why Democrats in California were afraid this latest primary when it had too

It’s a brutal cluster of a problem. I’d love for a party that was more in line with my views if the risk of this vote (the worst of the two major parties will win) didn’t outweigh the benefits (demonstrating, through the small actions of myself and others, that other parties can in fact attract votes.)

Yes, but in a first-past-the-post system what choice does anyone have but to support the least worst option?

It’s OK. The Maeby/George Michael stuff is great - they have a good dynamic now that the “kissing cousins” stuff is (mostly) behind them.
The rest of it is hit or miss.

I watched Season 5 after reading how awful Bateman Hale Cross and Tambor were to Walters, I’ve even whined a lot about it in posts on this very website. Season 5 is leagues better than 4, IMO, but, not close to 1-3. So. Probably not worth it.

“Hey anyone who is improving themselves and evolving their thought processes - don’t bother! Better you stay ignorant, I’ll engage with you in the same way anyway.” - Scripted Error.

When someone tries to explain how they’ve changed and are a much less shitty person now, I usually don’t try to rub in their face how they used to be shitty.
