No, our tax dollars paid for this disturbing monstrosity.

This is a joke right? I’m still not sure after finishing the article.

I’m with you. Biggest complaint was the insane amount of music. Film score is good in dramas... pop and hip hop and rock songs just take me out of it and cause me to turn the volume up and down a bunch of times. Get a good composer and let the background music speak emotions.

I’ll third the recommendation. I went in with zero expectations (this is the former ABC Family Channel, after all) and enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. Way darker than I was expecting.

I will say it was better than I expected. The leads are a cut above the usual Marvel teen/Freeform crop. At the very least, I enjoyed the premiere more than all of Runaways

Having seen both episodes, you’re absolutely right. The show starts and ends with Tandy and Tyrone, and they are both drawn so well.

The pilot basically did for superheroes what Love & Basketball did for sports movies: it took a strongly defined genre, with strongly defined expectations, and put all of that in the background to tell a character-driven story about two people whose lives are intertwined with one another.

Because Tandy and Tyrone work,

God I hope it’s much, much better than Runaways, which was just so tedious, despite all the best efforts of its mostly-talented cast.

Daredevil took too long to get going? Really? By the end of episode 1, we’ve been introduced to Matt Murdock’s supporting cast, at least 6 of the series’ villains (depending on how you want to count the 2nd Russian brother and Turk), gotten a partial explanation of DD’s origin and relationship with his father, and had

It was an abuse of power. Period.

And that’s not where Clinton got into trouble. He got into trouble by lying under oath. However, the reason it’s despicable is for similar reasons to why what Louis C.K. did were not kosher either. Neither (from my understanding) were sexual assault since they were (again, from what I

One was an intern. Lowest of the office-low. The other was at least one of the most powerful individuals in the world, if not the most powerful single human alive.

I’d say the very fact that he was the President of the United States constituted its own pressure. Because which is more reasonable to ask: that a young, impressionable young intern have the fortitude to say “No” to a sitting President, or that the President himself have the self-knowledge to realize the great weight

Nonetheless, the allegations come from multiple women, and at least one settlement was paid. These allegations are very credible. Sad as it may be, there is more evidence against Clinton for actual physical abuse than there is against Trump. Bill O’Reilly was brought down for very similar kinds of stuff, and

For me it was everything that came after the fact.

I don’t see how Lewinsky is embellishing anything in order to unreasonably portray herself as a victim. Like you say, she isn’t claiming that Clinton or his people have tried to go after her.

In some of the more recent discussion of these sorts of workplace affairs, it’s been suggested that in some cases even consensual affairs are somewhat coerced if one person is clearly the one in power. And if you do go along with that line of thought, you may not like one of the most powerful people on the planet

Okay. I guess I hallucinated those reasonable conversations? Fuck off.

The narrative I’ve always gotten here always seemed like it was more directed at the super upset people, not the average “I wasn’t a fan” people.

Honestly, being someone who liked that movie hasn’t been fun on the Internet.

I was under the impression Disney was so impressed with New Warriors they wanted to find a new, more visible home for it.
