Went to a friend’s wedding in Milford, OH. We’re all a bunch of NJ guys who are used to even strip-mall pizza joints being halfway decent. His family took us out for the rehersal dinner to “the best Italian restaurant in Milford”.

I got Pre a few months ago and had my first business flight with it from EWR to RDU. EWR was an early-AM flight so no dedicated Pre lane in Terminal A. RDU on the way back, however, from the time I dropped the rental car and boarded the shuttle to the time I was sitting at the bar with a drink in my hand was honest to…
Dunning-Kruger in a tweet!
“But you yadda yaddad over the best part!”
I saw a bro-dozer on the garden state parkway flying the stars n’ bars, the POW flag and the US flag side-by-side from his back rack. Its a wonder to me that people don’t try and cut these things down when these guys park.
SegwayMan Theory: The owner of the company segways off a cliff
“The devils you know....” and all that; I’m not sure ousting the Wilpons is the salve that fans expect it to be. We have examples of that going in very different directions ... i.e. The Dodgers who became an exemplary organization stocked to the gills with talent or The Marlins who under the ownership of ol’ Jeets and…
I can’t wait for Mickey to lose his job and write his NYT Best-Selling tell all: “They Made Me Do It: What Managing The Mets is Really About” where he exposes the Wilpons for the meddling frauds they are. It’s just so shocking to me that a guy can go from being a pitching genius in one year to completely unable to…
I have two life-altering words: Aleppo. Pepper. It’s attainable online (Spice Station in LA, Kalustyan’s in NYC) and adds a wonderful flavor to everything it touches. Worth seeking out and really elevates a yogurt-chicken marinade.
Having recently lost my first-class virginity, the free drinks were so tiny each one was like half a beer. You’d need at least 5 to catch any kind of a buzz.
My freshman roommate was named Dave and he didn’t leave the room during the week, ever, and sat at his computer playing Final Fantasy (the online one, I don’t remember the number). He would subsist on peanut butter sandwich crackers (the orange ones) and barely leave the room to go to the caf for food. He would lose…
1 for 1: Wheeler to NYY, Frazier to NYM.
We used to go to Vermont for family summer vacations and our favorite part of the trip was the Fort Ti ferry that shuttled cars across the lower part of Lake Champlain. It was so nice after 5 hours in the car to just get that little break ....
In NJ for years the state police were rumored to set up stings in the parking lots of the PA fireworks stores located just across the borders. I never saw one, we always went to the smaller more out-of-the-way local stores, but the rumors persisted.
I had this exact conversation with a friend of my Aunt’s who is a high-end antique dealer. The business is a shell of what it used to be; mostly because the interest in antique pieces has fallen off among the millennial generation, we would much rather just buy a new lamp on Wayfair than scope out an antique version.
There was (is?) a phenomenal greasy spoon near my friend’s family place in the Pocono’s called Spanky’s Family Restaurant; they served the best damn crispy Scrapple I’ve ever had.
