“People apparently think I have a hostile face,” she says. “People mistake me for Annalise Keating and Amanda Waller, so I have to smile. I have to overly smile. I have to smile as if I’m doing a Colgate commercial smile.”

I’ve loathed Chrissy since her pro-slut-shaming Twitter rant a few years, so I’m incredibly uncomfortable with the fact that so many Jezzies are perpetually on her and John Legend’s jock. Though I do think she is right about omitting vocal pauses in interviews.

Well, Anthony Weiner hasn’t had an even vaguely promising career since 2013, so...

You’re genuinely not getting it. As I and other commenters have explained, the problem is not with trash-talking. The problem is with sexist trash-talk. We perfectly understand that it’s “normal,” but—contrary to what you seem to believe—the sheer ubiquitousness of sexist language is not an adequate defense of sexism.

Yeah, I mean, everything about this woman screams stalwart intellectual.

Yeah, her statement is literally the definition of racism in that she clearly perceives black Americans as inferior, as innately incapable of success. It’s almost impressive how her mental gymnastics allow her to recognize a widespread problem without considering the possibility that it is systemic. “It’s not our

A Trump surrogate said something racist? I can’t believe it. How positively shocking.

Could be. Can’t confirm or deny that possibility.

For your sake, I hope you’re capable of evolving as a human so that you one day recognize precisely how fucked up your response was.

Definitely. Though I think it’s understandable, if somewhat tragic, that Tiffany does want a relationship with her father. It’s fairly difficult to give up on the possibility of a real connection with one’s parents, even if they’re racist, bloviating cretins.

With Weiner? I have no fucking clue. He could simply be a narcissistic sexual predator without the faintest glimmer of loyalty to his wife, concern for his young child, or respect for the women he chooses to message.

They’re not mutually exclusive. One can have an addiction while also being an entitled ass. Addiction doesn’t excuse assholery; it simply provides a psycho-biological explanation for it.

I mean, you couldn’t pay me enough to marry Trump. But I don’t think money is the sole explanation for her silence.

Hunting is a fairly common hobby. Trophy hunting is not.

While I’m not ruling out the possible that he’s an IRL creep, it is entirely possible that he has a sext addiction, so to speak. Studies have shown that visual or audio cues signaling the arrival of a text message, tweet, etc. triggers the same synaptic response as pulling the lever on a slot machine. Basically, it

Yes, as Shakespeare famously said, the book is mightier than the semi-automatic pistol.

FUCKING GOOD.

Personally, I think joking about rape is pretty fucking toxic. And insulting men by equating them with women is both sexist and detrimental to male psychological health, according to every sociological study ever conducted. But hey, if you want to believe sexism is A-okay, go on with your patriarchal self.

Straw man is the term you’re looking for, but that’s not what I’m doing. You’re suggesting that gaming shouldn’t be considered a part of “public life,” that it ideally constitutes a sort of protected sphere where one can forget about the larger world and heavily politicized issues. I recognize that you’re not
