Benching Eli at that time was pointless. Season was lost, it was a foolish DO SOMETHING desperation move by McAdoo. The real tragedy is that the PR backlash seems to have convinced the brass that The Right Thing was to commit to 1-3 more years of Eli being old & slow behind a turnstile O-line.
