That’s an awfully reductive take. I hope Harmon is showrunning because he is one of the only sitcom creators that actually allow for personality to shine through instead of feeling like an anonymous studio product. I do think Shirley was a hard character for probably a predominantly white writer’s room to work with

As a recovering alcoholic I salute you Miss Stew

Not a single line dedicated to her world stopping performance in Maze Runner: The Death Cure?!

Big wig TV Execs were certainly Mysty-eyed over a nostalgia property about all of the birthdays and personal milestones they were able to avoid with the original Myst.

Didn’t everyone grow up with an alcoholic globetrotting uncle whose only computer game was Myst?

Might as well call this the AP Bio streaming service because that’s the only remotely interesting project going for this mess.

The coming of age formula will probably work will with Kaling’s brand of comedic sensibilities and storytelling. Happy to see the narrative format explore people of colors’ experiences and Kaling was a privileged Ivy Leaguer so rich white people don’t have to feel alienated.

Brave, sad, silly, impressive is all I can say for vouching for Sleater-Kinney. A perfectly serviceable album that had far more songwriting issues than anything else. The production shift and new wave influences are not nearly prominent enough, but “Hurry on Home” and “LOVE” are absolute highlights.

That Hot Chip album is a real triumph.

Very solid, albeit too short, list! Jenny Hval’s book Paradise Rot was one of the greatest pieces of fiction I have ever read by a musician or otherwise. She really is the real deal in terms of art pop auteurs.

Cats was the only show in Highschool that I ever bailed out on, which for a theater kid is sacrilege. The kid who played my school’s Rum Tug Tugger would go on to accidentally shoot someone in the face.

Only saw it the once in theaters, but I watched the original Bladerunner a couple of times the days leading up to 2049's release, and I remember thinking that this movie largely improved upon the original in almost every way (the soundtrack not being by Vangelis or even Oneohtrix Point Never prevents it from a true 5

The lack of media hype around this truly vital band is criminal.
