Head gasket problems on Subarus are reliably confined to a few years of the NA 2.5L 4. Get an OBXT and you are golden.

Is there a solution for the Pulsar? I really aim to have one in the next few years. I’m pretty sure if you could find the GTR transmission for the 323 that was better...
I do not care. I still want one so badly. To give you some idea of how smart my car choices are, I also strongly desire a Mazda 323 GTX haha.
Patrick I really really think you should consider looking for a Pulsar GTi-R, they’re really cool and I want one and also want Jalopnik stories about them so please...
This is a pretty dumb article Alanis. The car scored 0 stars due to a technicality in scoring, not based on actual performance therefore we are not watching “What a zero star crash test looks like.” I don’t usually join in on the standard Jalopnik-bashing but we really do deserve better than articles like this.
Anyone from southern AZ knows “Scott Lehman, a dealer FOR the people”
An unnamed friend of mine an I were driving in the mountains in Arizona in his parents’ Forester on New Years a few years back. Yes, believe it or not, we get snow sometimes too. Anyway, it was becoming more and more of a blizzard but my friend was determined to test if the Forester also had “drift mode”. Well it did,…
I think this is the only community where this might work. Anyone know what wheels the baby blue/Gulf 911 near the bottom is rocking? Somehow I just discovered a wheel I prefer on a classic 911 over Cookie Cutters....
Elephant Racing is what you’re looking for.
Tremendous car. (do like the RSA with silver wheels personally but to each his own)
Oh after graduation, I’ll buy a 911 SC or a 3.2 Carrera. Much slower but more engaging with a few $$ spent at Elephant Racing.
I love it though perhaps I wish they’d gone further (although I’m not entirely sure how). This is the new Porsche I always hoped they’d make. Unfortunately, I won’t graduate college for another year and even assuming I do, it would be a few years before I could legitimately afford a $100k car. Unfortunately. Perhaps…
He’s absolutely correct. Coasting in gear immediately sends injector duty cycle to zero. I didn’t believe it until I saw it happen on my accessport.
Great stories and great drive Robb! Watched you sail by just at the top of Devil’s no more than 20 feet away. Glad you got your run in with all the red flags and the hail!
Future MechE here. Can confirm this is as fun as it looks. Currently designing more serviceable brake mounting and lower A-arms that require less inches of weld to assemble.
I too relate to this so much. I’m a junior ME student. Luckily, I joined the Baja SAE team at my school which gives me ample time lying on my back in the dust wondering why I didn’t make removing the brake calipers easier...Same story in the shop when I can cut 1 hr+ off machining times with some redesigns... Having…
As an aspiring engineer in Baja SAE, I really relate to this haha.
Maybe so but I think nothing is lost when a car is engaging and decent to drive and potentially everything stands to be gained. I too would love an Accord Sport.
I gotta disagree. I think everyone benefits from a car like a Mazda 6 or an Accord Sport instead of a Camry or a Corolla. The Mazda and the Honda are perfectly engaging. They don’t demand anything of their drivers but they give back just a bit more if the freeway happens to have a bend in it. Everyone enjoys good…
Actually if you knew 911s, you would know it had neither those nor the front fenders, nor really any of it. This began as a late 80s car but it was backdated to look like a G model. Very honestly? I don’t like that either. I think a 911 should retain it’s steel body, it’s part of the charm. In case you were curious, I…
