“The problem is they want the benefits but none of the downsides.”

I think you’d have a very difficult time proving that driving passengers around is not a core business of a company who’s purpose is to drive passengers around.

I cannot believe the audacity of their lawyers, claiming that driving is not the core business of Uber.

How dare people ask for better working conditions! Why can’t they be more like you, who every year asks for a reduction in those conditions?

No, they know they have no chance of winning. If they actually wanted to win, there are easier districts to do it. No, what they want is Conservative Credibility, which comes from losing a district in a heavily Liberal area, so that they can go on Fox News.

Absolutely nothing stops you from doing that yourself.

Because Labour wouldn’t win. Right now, Johnson has no power whatsoever, and that’s the best outcome right now for Corbyn. Calling an election would give Johnson back that power. He’d rather use this opportunity to pass the law forbidding no-deal Brexit.

That guy needs to have the company taken away from him. He has proven that he does not deserve to run one, and that he does not deserve the wealth that comes from one.

Not having been there, or knowing much about there, why would a hard border between the Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland potentially bring about the Troubles again?

No, they don’t always have a choice. And even if they do, why the fuck should that change a damn thing? If you didn’t believe they had a choice, would you argue that they should be treated better?

No. The drivers are employees. And they are getting fucked.

That’s the entirity of your argument. Shit like, “If you don’t like it, go get an actual job and quit driving,” says that the employees should not be able to advocate for better treatment, and that the company should be able to do whatever they want.

So logically, the amount of business they do has nothing to do with how much they fuck their employees. That would be contrary to what you implied, that they’re not fucking the employees, because otherwise they wouldn’t be doing that much business.

I don’t care if you don’t use them or not. You’re still advocating that they be continued to fuck over their employees, and that the company is always right.

So you’re saying that a company can never be screwing over their employees?

By that logic, why do any shitty jobs still exist in this world?

What the fuck does any of what you said have to do with being paid fairly, and not being fucked over by the company?

I was actually speaking from the POV of the drivers/delivery people; they need a way to immediately contact someone. As with that, I fully agree, the people at the call center need to be taken care of as well.

Does not matter. Zeal is in this business now, and they have an obligation to keep their workers safe.

I think the biggest issue with a bunch of these “platforms” is that it’s almost impossible to contact someone from the company if there’s an issue. They should all be required to have a phone line manned 24/7 that can resolve any issue that comes up. There should never be a time where a worker cannot talk to a person
