I don't have any Halloween plans, Halloween's not really a thing over here.

I think it's just an easter egg/reference to older games. Just like how there are dustbins everywhere, except they're all empty.

I disagree. Nintendo has always focused more on being innovative than simply better graphics, or faster processors. That's why they were the first to use joysticks or motion control.

That's probably the most plausible theory I've heard so far.
