Well said. I think what a lot of people don’t realize are the border’s of what they idolize these others for. You stated it correctly imo when you talked about Cosby being top of the comedy game for his time, and yet also being a serial monster. But no one, save perhaps his also evil and enabling wife liked him for

We all lie in the bed we make, but sometimes that bed is a road. And so instead we end up walking where we sleep. But if we don’t like where we are going, its time to have a different dream. For Ellen, its time for her to wake up, into a new dream, where she can lie down, and walk her own path.

“But then, with a casual stroke of his pen, Lovecraft inserts prickling and divisive racism. Every Black human is a mongrel, while he depicts Indigenous peoples as dumb and filthy.”

Here’s the issue though: George and Kellyanne are not actually all that different politically. They clearly disagree about Trump and the current administration, but they are both otherwise pretty conservative Catholic Republicans and have been forever. My guess is that they agree on 98% of things and that is why their

I think if you take politics out of it (which is hard to do with these people, I get it) my guess is that George and KellyAnne are equally narcissistic themselves, and both crave attention and power regardless of the medium. George was a “short-list” candidate for Solicitor General under Trump but now he’s gone and fou

love that, glad this show is undermining his racist behaviour completely then, have him fucking spinning like a kebab in his grave.

You really can’t have black folks running in a period piece without “Sinnerman” on the soundtrack, can you.

I have to say, not being a big reader in this area, to really liking genre fiction being allegories about America and its racism—like the excellent Watchmen. I’ve never seen a car chase where the great threat after you is the freaking Sun. Very clever and pointed. Loved the unexpected James Baldwin passage. Formally,

Fan Fiction as (a force for) something good?

What a riveting hour of TV. Letitia fuckin’ Lewis, indeed. And I would give anything to look as good in a white shirt as Jonathan Majors, goddamn. The Shoggoths looked cool as hell; excited to see where the show goes next.

It’s not Obama’s winning twice that’s the issue. It’s that after two Obama terms enough people still decided - and seemingly based those decisions on clearly fallacious reasons - that Trump was a better choice for the next president that’s the issue.

I really think you’ve underestimated how stupid people are. Over 60 million people voted for Donald Trump. There is no level of stupidity that you could attribute to the American populace that is too high. None. Take the absolute dumbest you could possibly imagine... and then double it. And that’s where America is.

Every time I see a photo of Cleavon Little, I get sad all over again. He died just too damn soon.

“Those attitudes are espoused by characters who are explicitly portrayed here as narrow-minded, ignorant bigots. The film’s real and much more enlightened perspective is represented by the two main characters.”

Can we please stop acting like all white people are Trump supporters and racists?

That’s the point, my friend. They don’t CARE about the policies. Any more than they cared about Obama’s policies. The motivations are deeper and more sickening than that.

I know how he feels. I constantly post opinions like “Raisin Bran #1 cereal” when in actuality that is not my position.

My problem with shit like this is that they always go to the lowest rung possible  to insult someone. Instead of attacking her about her policies, her work in the past,it goes straight to insults or name calling.
